A world with nothing but an array of bland colors; no shapes, no lines, and no images. Shapes would be blobs of nothingness, lines would be pure imagination, and images would be nonexistent. Individuals lost without the vital part that eyesight plays, would be seen crashing into walls and the entirety of the world would be untidy and incompetent for human life. A society that is blurry and cloudy is a world where chaos litters. However, this murky world, filled with destruction, eventually came to a halt in 1784, all thanks to a single man named Benjamin Franklin. This wise scientist was known for his countless inventions, among these creations was bifocals. With the aid of this device, life was lit up in all shapes, lines, and images.

Benjamin Franklin had the most impact in founding the nation out of all the founding fathers. was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Franklin was a visionary and pushed for reform. He seeked ways to improve the nation at the time, while ultimately setting a print on the nation that would shape it in the long term. Some say Franklin was interested in everything, and rightly so.
Benjamin Franklin was involved with the constitution in many different ways and ended up being part of the members. The constitution is a body of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is acknowledged to be governed. The Constitution is made up from 4,400 words it's the oldest and shortest written constitution of any major government in the world. Even though he was 81 years old and in poor health he still participated as a delegate to the Constitution convention. Franklin made himself delegate to the Convention because he was experienced as a seasoned diplomat and negotiator.
Franklin's inventions made many every day tasks of the colonial times a lot easier. Benjamin Franklin was the inventor of the lightning rod and he is well known for his experiments in electricity field. Using only a key, a kite, and a jar, Benjamin Franklin discovered how to conduct electricity. Franklin later constructed the lightning rod, a metal rod attached to the highest point of a building with a cable running it from the rod into the ground, safely conducting the electricity away from the building. No longer would houses and stores catch on fire due to lightning strikes during intense storms.
Benjamin Franklin moved from Boston to Philadelphia. After moving to London in 1724, Franklin returned to Philadelphia in 1726 to find that Deborah had married in the interim, only to be abandoned by her husband just months after the wedding. Around that time, Franklin fathered a son, William, out of wedlock who was taken in by the couple. The pair’s first son, Francis, was born in 1732, but he died four years later of smallpox.
On January 17, 1706 Benjamin Franklin the “man of electricity” was born. He was the youngest of 10 kids, his mother and father's names were Josiah Franklin and Abiah Folger, his father's second wife. Benjamin's father , in total, would have 17 children. Benjamin's father was only able to send him to school for a year, but being a clergy took many years. Much of modern America is quite similar to Franklin in his actions throughout his lifetime. In his early years, Franklin’s father, Josiah, had a set plan for what he was supposed to do with his life, as a minister. Soon into his education, he found an interest in reading and writing, so he began pursuing a career in printing.

Franklin’s science experiments and inventions helped many people around the world with their everyday needs. In 1752, Benjamin Franklin set off with William Franklin to test his theory that lightning was really electricity with his kite and key (Dash, pgs. 81-83). Franklin’s theory turned out to be true and it helped many scientists learn about the nature of lightning.
The importance of Ben Franklin has been told all throughout history, along with the famous $100 bill with his face on it. Drafting the Declaration of Independence, foudning universities and libraries, the post office, shaping policies in the U.S., publishing newspapers, making advances in science, and letting us use bifocals and using lighting for electricity. Even if this man never finished school, he did much reading and experiments that help us out today. Franklin was known for creating many things that we still use today, and we will continue uses for many years to come. Inventions that we still use today would be the lightning rod, street lighting, odometer, Bifocal glasses, and the discovery of Daylight Saving Time. Franklin invented the lightning rod to protect the building from lightning; Franklin believed this was the most important inventions. With street lighting, he only improved it by using the scientific method to help improve the quality of light. As he describe it in his Autobiography, "I, therefore, suggested composing them of four flat panes, with a long funnel above to draw up the smoke, and crevices admitting air below, to facilitate the ascent of the smoke; by this means they were kept clean, and did not grow dark in a few hours, as the London lamps do, but continu'd bright till morning."
