I have been roaming this land, enjoying a free dinner every night from the town below. The best time to go out is during the night when everyone is asleep. One day I decided to go into their lodge and there was the most beautiful sight I have seen. Thirty sleeping men, an easy meal. However, I can’t stand them having fun all the time. I have been going to the Herot for 12 long winters and have barely had any sleep. The only thing I want is peace and I can not get any of that. A couple months before Beowulf came to the land, I would hear the sounds of fun miles and miles away. I would scream and go to the herot to end the fun and drinking. When they didn’t expect me I would break down the door or go through the roof, the beer spilling and the swords barely of their holster. …show more content…
Every night is the same outcome every time; they are dead. Recently there has been a new face in town, his name is Beowulf, one of the fiercest fighters in Sweden and one of the best fighters around. It is said that Beowulf has killed many creatures such as nine sea monsters, the odds of him killing that many are slim. He is here to help a king called Hrothgar and his goal is to kill me. Like all the other victims, Beowulf will not be able to defeat me. He will use his sword to attempt to kill me and he will be surprised about what happens then I will grab him and eat him. One night Beowulf and his men were at the mead hall drinking and feasting. I slammed the door and killed one men right off the start, then to my surprise I saw Beowulf with no armor and no swords, he was calm and ready to
Heroes This quote comes from Tom McCall and Oregon 30th Governor from 1967-1975 where he states that “Heroes are not giant statues framed against a red sky. They are people who say: This is my community, and it is my responsibility to make it better.” (McCall) Tom Mccall’s quote shares that all heroes care about their communities. In addition to caring, heroes also share other common traits that identify them as heroic.
even as a weak old man, he chooses to be selfless. He could have just been satisfied with his success in his older battles, but he picks honor over comfort. Beowulf knew that he probably wouldn’t make it after this battle, but he was content with his achievements for his people. He left to face the dragon, and when they arrived, his men betrayed him. (Beowulf 87-88).
After Kendrick placed the heart-shaped diamond ring on Aileana’s finger he stood and wrapped her in his arms. He leaned down to cover her lips with his and her sweet lips parted for his probing tongue to taste her. He was now positive he was the happiest Selkie on the planet. As they sealed their commitment to each other, they heard fireworks and horns announcing the start of a new year. For them, this was the beginning of their new life together.
Charles Scott Moncrieff’s translation of Beowulf is more linguistically similar to the original text than interpretive of that text which indicates a formal equivalence philosophy. Moncrieff’s translation uses literal translations of the original language, and mirrors the structure and layout of the original text. The first line of Moncrieff’s translation, “Then came from the moor / under misty slopes,” appears to be an exact translation of the original first line. Also illustrated in the first line is the similarity of form. Moncrieff’s translation preserves the medial caesura of the original with backslashes.

Beowulf attempted to comfort Hrothgar and the warriors by exclaiming, “Let your sorrow end! It is better for us all to avenge our friends, not mourn them forever”. He then aims to convince Hrothgar that “for the glory of his name, fame after death is the noblest of goals”. Beowulf believes it is worth dying for a good
As king, Beowulf stepped up and fought the malevolent dragon in his last battle. In his last boast he uttered, “ I’ve never known fear, as a youth, I fought endless battles. I am old, now, but I will fight again, seek fame still, if the dragon hiding in his tower dares to face me.” (62). Beowulf was very confident for the circumstances.
