In 1959 a man named Berry Gordy founded his life. After he dropped out of high school and got a $800 loan from his parents, he opened Motown Records in Detroit Michigan. At first, things were slow but steady enough to where he had a living and liked what he did. Motown started out small but as time progressed, Stevie Wonder signed to play with them, and they had 182 No.1 hits throughout the years! Motown ended up with big success after some years(classic motown). Motown achieved crossover success by was major people performing for them. Many people, including The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, and the Four tops performed on Motown records. Gordy was a believer that you can do anything that you set your mind to. He was an entrepreneur, teacher, and business owner. He was determined and that is what made him successful. Motown started having No.1 songs everywhere. Motown helped the blacks become broader to the world by showing the whites that they can do something big and have it be a hit. They had to use a different bathroom, go to a different school, and even use a different drinking fountain. Even when blacks sang in Motown the whites would not even like their music because of that. Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown had to make the blacks “white people worthy”, meaning that he had to make sure the presence (makeup, hair, and clothing) was good enough for the whites to want to see them. The blacks finally started making music and the whites loved it, whether they were black or not. In the end it did not matter what color they were the whites would listen to the black
