Beyond oneself is the most hardship challenge individual may face. Both passages share the attitudes and feelings of each parent. In passage 1 the author denote the difficult she had during her freshman year as illustrated "my dread freshman had been replaced by unemployment relatives" in this sentence it reflect tte struggle and poverty that the narrator did.
