We are using the King James Version of the Bible for the courses here so that there will be continuity in what we read. I personally do not mind if students use another version for study; sometimes clarification will be made. I DO NOT recommend using the RSV (Revised Standard Version) as they have changed keys points of doctrine. That version substitutes the words ‘young woman’ for the word ‘virgin’ – a major difference! Any young woman can have a child in the normal way, but only a virgin could have The Child which was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The virgin birth is a key doctrine on which Christianity is founded. An example of differences in versions follows. We read in the NIV these words from 2 Tim. 3:16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed …show more content…
This account was written mostly in Hebrew, with some Aramaic - the language of the chosen people. The New Testament is an account of a Man (the Son of Man). The Jewish people were founded and nurtured by God in order to bring the Man into the world (see Genesis 12:1-3) 1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be …show more content…

John 1:1-4: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of

Christianity is a very important religion that is practiced by almost a third of the world’s population today. So why was this religion able to grow so much during ancient times? Inspired by Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago, Christianity faced several barriers along its road to prevalence in the world. During his lifetime, Jesus preached the Word of God until Roman officials felt threatened and eventually crucified him. After his death, however, Jesus’ apostles kept up his legacy and continued to preach God’s Word.
“True faith means holding nothing back. It means putting every hope in God’s fidelity to His Promises. -Fancis Chan” (Reader’s Digest) Starting in around 30CE, Christianity spread throughout the ancient Roman Empire. As the religion grew, Christianity became one of the most prominent religions in the Roman Empire.
What are some people that helped the growth of Christianity? Christianity is the part of the five main religions, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. Jesus Christ inspired Christianity. Christianity was created by Paul. Poor people were turning to Christian because it is a religion that is open to anyone, even the poor.
Mark, in your dialog of the biblical worldview of ownership, operation and transfer risk you gave great insight of how our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the father of all the earth. We are servants set aside to do his will of being good shepherd over the earth. In the book cross border commerce according to (Satterlee, B. (2014), he tells us how you assume certain risk associated with the previous owner operational and transfer areas of risks. Therefore with God all things can come to sight with him leading and guiding your path of life. Verses that discuss God’s provision for those who trust in Him are numerous.
Before we delve into this topic, let us go back to the book of Genesis chapter 1 verse 26. (God said let us make Man in our own image, after our likeness) There are two very important words here, IMAGE and LIKENESS. Let’s first look at the word IMAGE, it means the exact reflection of one’s self, when you look in the mirror, you see the exact reflection of yourself, so we wouldn’t be wrong to say that God looks like Man. Then the word LIKENESS, also means characteristics, behavior, attributes, abilities, nature or actions, so in both reflection and in actions Man is like God.
Jesus is also seen as the Word of God in which all this were created. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3 (The Holy Bible: The New International Version, n.d.)
God tells the people how to live within one verse. “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth […]” (Genesis). “Replenish,” is the one-word humanity forgets in their day to day tasks. In other words, God tells humankind to nurture and revive the earth. , to keep it anew from the withering of time.
Christianity is the belief that Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah talked about in the Old Testament who was sent to Earth by God in order to die for everyone’s sins and promise them everlasting life if they follow him and his word. Christianity is an Abrahamic Monotheistic religion that started in the 1st century AD in the region of Judaea under the Roman Empire. Many believe that Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity, due to him laying the foundation and groundwork for Christianity. Whereas, the Apostle Paul is viewed as the great interpreter of Jesus’ mission and as one of the most important and influential figures in Christian history. In 2010, about 37% of Christians resided in the Americas, 26% residing in Europe, 24% residing
In 2 Timothy 3:16 the apostle Paul states: ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, for rebuking, for correction, for training in uprightness.’ As followers of Jesus Christ it is essential that we hold fast to what this verse teaches. God has designed the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments to teach us truth for what we need to know. The Bible can rightly be called ‘The Manual for the Human Life’. So the Bible teaches what is true.
Though Mark 16:16 states this, there are also other passages in the Bible that may be considered contradictory. Such as Luke 18:16: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Both sides have evidence to believe that one may be truer than the other. In my eyes neither is really wrong. All religious believer
Christians believe Jesus was born through Immaculate Conception. His lineage can be traced back to the house of David. According to the Gospel of Matthew (2:1), Jesus was born during the reign of Herod the Great, who upon hearing of his birth felt threatened
believe that Jesus, whom they called the Christ in Greek or Messiah in Hebrew, was the Son of God, both man and God at the same time. Christians eventually formulated their beliefs in the doctrine of the Trinity. The one God expresses Himself through three different natures: God the Father, God the Son (Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. The Trinity, one God in three different persons, is a central mystery of the Christian faith (Martin, 56). During his time on Earth, Jesus taught in the synagogues and outdoors, healing the sick and welcoming particularly the poor and the outcast.
Biblical language original was written in Hebrew. However ancient Hebrew was different in several ways of thinking about God, and life. With the Hebrews believed that God is the creator of the world. Jesus Christ is the head of the Hebrew religion.
Mary became pregnant through the holy spirit. Jesus was born in a normal way and was born as God’s only son. Because Jesus was born to Mary, a human, and as God’s son. Jesus is divine, half human, half God/both human and God. The belief that God came down to earth as a human, as Jesus, is called the incarnation.
