Biblical Worldview When reading and studying God’s Word, one is taken on an epic journey. A journey that is filled with emotion and fills the soul. Throughout the Biblical text there are countless times where we see God working and providing, and being the One who is worthy to be praised. God has had a plan since the beginning of time and we can read about His divine plan within the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, one can see the unity of the Bible and how God has intervened for His people. Having a Biblical worldview is beneficial to a person’s life because one can be well equipped for whatever God has in store for them. The Bible begins with God creating and everything that He

God chose specific people to put into action His plan and made a covenant with each of them. Abraham was the first person in which He chose to do so. The Abrahamic covenant is a covenant that God made with Abraham. The covenant is about God promising to bless Abraham with land and many descendants (Gen. 17:7). This covenant was an unconditional covenant between God and Abraham meaning that no matter what, God was going to keep His promise. The second covenant that pertains to the plan was the Mosaic covenant. God saw the evil Israel was doing and He wanted it to end. God told Moses to remind the people of Israel all that He has done for them and to obey His commands (Exodus 19:3-6). The third covenant that was involved in God’s divine plan was the Davidic covenant. This covenant was created to have the coming Messiah be lineage to David (Psalms 132:11). Ed Hindson and Gary Yates, editors of “Essence of the Old Testament: A Survey”, state, “The earthly reign of the Davidic monarch was a reflection of the Lord’s heavenly rule and the earthly instrument by which the Lord would exercise His sovereignty over the earth” (255). The purpose for these covenants was to put into motion the coming of the Messiah so that all of mankind can obtain …show more content…
Jeffery Niehaus, author of “Covenant and Narrative, God and Time”, states, “God has made covenants with humans, and those covenants have been central to the process of salvation…” (Covenant and Narrative). Through the Abrahamic, Mosaic, and Davidic covenants, God was able to fulfill His plan to save the world. Jesus Christ came to this earth in order to accomplish God’s divine plan for His creation (Luke 2:32). Jesus came to this earth to fulfill the prophecies and to die on the cross for the sins of the world so that all of mankind would be saved and can have the opportunity to come back home to God. Through Adam sin entered into the world and through Jesus sin exited (Romans 5:12-15). Jesus did not stop there though, no, He rose from the grave (Mark 16:5-7)! Death could not hold Him down because He is the Son of the Living God! When Jesus overcame death, He defeated the power of sin, death, and hell and commissioned a new covenant (Hebrews 8:6). When Jesus comes again, a new Heaven and a new earth will be created and all will be just as God intended it to be (Rev. 21:1). God is the main character in the Bible and He is willing to use anyone as a secondary
2 Samuel 7:8-16 • The Lord Almighty said to David that he was to be rule over the people of Israel. • God will also give rest to David from all his enemies. • He promised David a lot of things including the following: The Lord himself will establish a house for him, and he will give him an offspring, as well as having the love for David. 2 Samuel 23:1-5 • These were the covenants made with David concerning his reign.
They are all referring to the same covenant, with chapter 17 being the climax of it, or the Full detail of it. God is promising to bless Abram/Abraham with land (Tullock, H. 2012). Both of these blessings are men²oned in all three passages (Tullock, H. 2012). Abraham has an end to hold up in this covenant as well; God will provide these things for him, and in turn, Abraham is to walk with God and be blameless (Tullock, H and McEntire, M. 2012).
a covenant is an agreement with God all the way through the bible. Kingdom prophets have a call to influence whole communities. Body para 1 Hosea was commanded by God to have a wife that would turn out to become a prostitute to show Gods relationship with Israel[MIller (2011) #411]. Hosea means salvation[google(2016). He was a man that God used to speak through to get his message to other people.
This covenant was declared to be eternal by God himself in (Gen.13:14-15, 17:7-8, 1 Chron. 16:16-17; Ps. 05:9-10). This covenant was only rightly to be fulfilled by God himself because He is a covenant keeping God. We see this in the number of times He is promising to fulfil this covenant. “I will” --- 4 times in Gen. 12:1-3 and “ I will” – 7 times in Gen. 17:1-8.
His mission to the nations compared to God’s mission to Hindus today. God’s mission is often described as His desire to bless humanity through His work of salvation or redemption. We can see in Genesis 12, there is specify promise of blessing for the “nations”, which was actually started from Genesis 10. The nation forgot the real God and they started worshiping the idols and the created. But Bible indicates although Abraham family also had in idol worshiper he decided to follow the true God.
In the beginning, man was created and given the breath of life. Adam and Eve were in the Garden and in God’s presence, but sin entered into
The books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicle show us even the kings turned out to be unequipped for satisfying and keeping up God's Law, The Abrahamic, Mosaic, and Davidic Covenant. The tribes of Israel were powerless and disarranged and they thought they required a king; believing that another arrangement of government would achieve an adjustment in their nation. The Davidic Covenant and House of David made ready for God to come. The books represent that a natural force can never completely manage God's Law, that every one of us are a casualty of sin and only God can make us pure. They neglected to understand that their issue was because of their defiance to God.
According to this explanation, it is possible to say that the Noahic covenant was presented to a bigger audience than just Noah and his family. It was obvious that this covenant established between God and Noah, but the scene after the flood where Noah offered burnt offerings to God and God was pleased by it shows that God extended the covenant to a wider range. According to Genesis 9:9-10, God expanded the covenant that He made with Noah to the offspring that will come after him. This show one of God’s character that He always move and think one step ahead regarding the covenant that He made with humankind. Even, this covenant got extended even further in Genesis 9:11, when God declared that “Never again will all life be cut off by the waters
The Israelites were God’s chosen people set apart to represent Him to other nations. They carried His presence, the arc of the covenant, and priests and prophets appointed to speak on His behalf and on theirs. However, just as all people are, the Israelites were imperfect and could not keep God’s law. They strayed from God numerous times and had to be reprimanded so that they could turn back to Him in recognition of their mistakes. Regardless, God was faithful and unrelenting to show mercy and kindness to His people, even when they faced adversity.
The Bible is not just a book, it is a collection of books. The New Testament chronicles the life and times of Jesus Christ the Messiah and after his death (Harris, 2014). These books can be divided up into different genres or categories based on their author and/or subject matter. At least four genres can be found, the gospels, historical, letters, and apocalyptic. The first genre appears in the first four books of the bible, the gospels, which “Gospel” translates to the Greek word evangelion which means “good news.”.
There is an old saying, my word is my bond. With man, that is not always the case, but with God, His Word truly is His bond. The promises He made to Abraham are still being fulfilled today, and are still yet to come. God’s covenant with Abraham contained three main promises, the land promise, the seed promise, and the blessing promise. The Mosaic Covenant was a partial fulfillment of the land Promise, but because of the disobedience of Israel, it was not able to be enjoyed.
The characteristic of Israel is that they committed evil in the sight of the Lord, by breaking the covenantal relationship. They put their trust and faith in Baal, rather, than the Lord Yahweh. The proper name of God, “Lord” reveals the nature of who God is, He is the one tied in covenantal relationship with His people Israel. If, Israel is faithful then God will fulfil His promises of the covenant. The irony is that Israel turns Yahweh to seek security and prosperity elsewhere.
God made covenants with the Jewish people. The first covenant was between God and Abraham. God chose Abraham to be the father of a group of people that would be special to God. God said Abraham and his descendants must obey God and live their life in a way that shows the world God was the only supreme God. In return God would protect them, help them, and give them the land of Canaan to live.
The Old Testament, as opposed to the New Testament, shows many different sides of God. God is characterized as challenging, spiteful, or even vengeful in some of the stories of the Old Testament. Instead of teaching the concepts of love and forgiveness, the Old Testament emphasizes sacrifice and how it is required to live a life of faith. The Pentateuch introduces the covenants made between God and certain individuals in which, through fulfilling the tasks that God asks of them, they are granted His grace. God used these covenants, promises to His people, to hold mankind accountable for their own use of free will.
The problem with this is that it overlooks a lot of rules of interpretation. It does not take a large spectrum on the whole scripture and see what God is up to in his redemptive plan. God has been unfolding his redemptive plan from Adam and it will find it’s consummation in Christ when he reigns bodily on the throne of David as King of kings and Lord of Lords. “Ammillenial deny the promises made to the physical seed of Abraham as a race and they claim that the promised are only given to the spiritual seed and the other implication is that the physical seed have no claim to the promises because they are not part of the spiritual seed of Abraham.” . They ignore the New Testament confirmations of the Old Testament covenant promises which Jesus Christ himself confirmed such as;
