According to him, praying and committing spiritual acts bring him one with god and thus improve not just his studies, but also his life quality. Moreover, Jimmy stated that Catholicism helped him to be friendly and open toward others and thus he got to know a lot more person by going to church than he could have if he wasn’t a Christian. I also asked Jimmy if he ever missed a sunday mass, he told me that he missed dozens since he got to Davis. “Sometime I do have time to go to church but if I don’t, I will have time to study. I did missed dozens.
Also, God has put a lot of wonderful things in my life as well, one of which being the determination for a wonderful job. Now I know I can do anything through Him, so the possibilities are endless. When I was thirteen, approximately a year ago, my family took a vacation to Cancun. The trip was pretty cool. Cancun was warm, tropical, and most of all supplied endless amounts of food in the hotel. Like most vacations, people want to get the most they can do with their time there. For me, my last bit of fun would have been crashing into the waves, I had discovered, on the new beach in front of my hotel.
Most of us crave for purpose and meaning in what we do. I lived my life for several years unhappy and hoping for change. It is our everyday actions and what we choose or not choose to do that shape the way that we are remembered. While some actions can be big, it is especially the small things that we do every day that multiply as we grow in maturity and wisdom that help build a legacy to remember. Sadly, people can pass on without leaving much of a legacy behind; questions may have gone unanswered, words could have been left unsaid.
I have learned to love, give, share for no other benefit other than being closer to Divinity. Give without expectation of praise, recognition or fame for it is truly Divine. Most of my life I expected people to behave a certain way. I expected people to be nice to me, supportive of my book, supportive of my spiritual journey, supportive of my acting, and supportive of my accomplishments. Many times I was met with jealousy,
This circus that Mendez runs is one of inspiration. The circus was meant to be a beacon of hope to all and instill the belief into the audience that anything is possible just as the Church teaches that with God all things are possible. One thing that sticks out with the three goals of youth ministry is the very first goal, which is “to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today” (RTV). It is very difficult to openly live as a disciple of Jesus Christ in our world today because of how many people will shame a person for it.

I am a reform Jew and to me my religion is very important. To me my religion is amazing, for it makes me feel like a happy and a whole person. It makes me feel a part of something bigger than I am, and all my traditions feel like a truth to me. It has only been in the past couple of years that I have been so engaged, but it seems like it has always been a large part of me that I just needed to explore with an open mind, and so I have decided to to learn as much as I can. Even though my middle school is not a Jewish school I still feel a part of the community.
