Should animals have a bill of rights? I am going to disagree with the statement animals need a “Bill of Rights”. Let me start off by explaining what an animal bill of rights is, well the human bill of rights gives us the right to do everything we do today. However if animals were to get these rights how could that work out ? Animals should not have rights because they would choose not to be experimented on, not choose to be sacrificed for food , and my last reason is they are animals they do think like us according to films like Blackfish and Food inc. Also i'm going to explain why should animals get rights , if they were to get rights what will happen to food, and will it go against human tradition.
First off i am going to start off by

Food is what humans need everyday to survive and according to an debate page on google ‘’should animals have rights?...top rated question is people are not going to switch or change the way they eat just because a group of people don’t feel like it's right..’’ I agree with this statement i'm not going to stop my eating habits because people don't think it's right. On the other hand the way we make our food is different, I don't think it's a smart idea to show the public what we do to animals before they get cooked that gives people a reason to think like this and according to the film Food inc a farmer that is feed up lying or hiding their secrets of raising animal said” it's not right i'm fed up with lying hers the truth we feed chickens corn syrup to make them fat so the us gets bigger chicken …show more content…
Another agreement on should animals have rights debate anonymous user ‘’ Why should animals have the right to make it hard to get food and mess with research and testing’’. I strongly agree with this statement because it's hard enough for the government to keep everyone in under control why would we try and waste money to keep animals under control. On the other hand people hurting animals and making it public does not help out going against the statement ’’animals need rights’’so why can't we just leave it as it is and live our lives and according to the film blackfish a trainer at seaworld stated “why should people capture animals for entertainment” i see what the trainer is saying but the U.S needs money and the way we make it doesn't
In trying to figure out if the first congress wanted to adopt the constitution or not they realized that they did not want it to be a repeat of how the British violation of civil rights before and during the Revolution. The founding father seen that as an example of what not to do therefore they can focus on what would be better at the time for congress and United States. This is why the U.S. Bill of Rights was to be constructed in way to organized citizen’s actions. It was like giving a rule book to the people in protecting citizens therefore they feel protected by their government.
In Document I they are taking out the Bill of Rights and putting that information elsewhere and enter information that doesn’t need to be in the Constitution. One of Thomas Jefferson's group leaders has sent a copy of his work and he noticed that he took out one part of information that needs to be in The Constitution. Without the Bill of Right the people will turn against their government. Thomas Jefferson said a complaint to his friend and wanted to know why he took out the Bill of Rights. With the Bill of Rights the people are under control because they accept what is written and why they look up to the Bill of Rights.
Not everyone agrees with the government or if we should even have a government. What's the point of having rules, laws, someone in charge of running who could be unqualified? Each person in the government is protected by having for too much power. Every single person that has something to do with the federal government has some sort of power of someone. John Dickinson wrote The Articles of Confederation which were very weak and a disappointed to our country.
Prior to the US constitution and any acts for civil rights, people have always desired certain rights and liberties that were once considered far from reach. The Bill of Rights outlines the basic rights, such as freedom of speech, the right to a fair court trial, and the right to vote. Although these civil liberties were written into the constriction it would be decades of struggle and sacrifice before they would apply to all men and women. Civil rights give people the right not to be treated unequally based on certain characteristic, such as their race. Although the Bill of Rights were established, it was not specific enough to include everyone.
The topic of factory processed meats is a very controversial topic. Is eating meat wrong? No, I have never thought eating meat was wrong; I just now think that we need to be more informed on where the meat we are consuming is coming from. It is our responsibility to be aware of what companies are treating their animals in a morally correct way and which companies are not so that we are knowledgeable when we go shopping at the grocery
The Bill of Rights represents the first ten amendments of the U.S Constitution. The First and Fourth amendment does protect the citizen privacy, however it does not regulate the choice of medical care. The Supreme Court has overruled the Obama care in which has made a decision of making every citizen must have health care or will be subject to a penalty on their annual tax and by 2016 the fine is $695 per adult or 2.5 percent of annual income whichever is greater. The Bill of Rights does not regulate the citizen of free exercise of health care nor the decision to suicidal.
A Bill of Rights, as Justice Fitzgerald said, does not alter the distribution of power between politicians and judges but between politicians and the people. As I have written elsewhere, most people would prefer judges to enforce their rights rather than politicians. It is true that they do not elect the judges, but in every opinion poll that has ever been held in Australia, they certainly put them on a far higher rating of trustworthiness than they do politicians. The argument that a Bill of Rights would be overseen and enforced by the courts is an argument in its favour, not an argument against it. There are public opinion polls which show that an overwhelming number of people actually want to have a Bill of Rights; they want to be protected
In the protection of human rights, one of the most significant advancements in Canada is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Charter was entrenched in the Canadian Constitution under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Pierre Elliot Trudeau and it was a part of a larger reform that patriated our Constitution in 1982. A constitution is a set of fundamental rules creating, regulating, and limiting the basic powers of the government and Canada’s charter guarantees the rights and freedoms that are essential in a free and democratic society. Most importantly, the term entrenchment means that the Charter can only be revised through a series of steps that requires substantial agreement from both federal and provincial governments. In this paper,
The Bill of Rights is one of the most important documents in American history. The first ten amendments listed particular restrictions on governmental power. The Bill of Rights was created in reply to calls from several states for better constitutional protection for particular liberties. Originally, at the Constitutional Convention in 1787, delegates denied a proposal made by George Mason, who wrote the Virginia Declaration of Independence in 1776, to preface the Constitution of the United States with a bill of rights.
The First Amendment: Your Right There are a number of countries that are governed by dictatorship; meaning people do not have choice or freedom and one person makes all the rules that everyone must obey; such as North Korea but in the United States we have rights. We have the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is what makes the government uphold and protect the rights of the Constitution. This is why the Bill of Rights are so important, especially in today's world.
As a society there should be a continuation of proceeding to develop new laws. Animals have rights that are not being protected or considered when they are not given the chance to live without suffering or harm. Additionally animal rights are violated when they are used as products for experimentation. Animal experimentations
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right of “freedom of speech” Bill of Rights, n.d., p. 1). It was designed to guarantee a free exchange of ideas, even if the ideas are unpopular. One of the most controversial free speech issues involves hate speech. Hate speech is a public expression of discrimination against a vulnerable group, based on “race, ethnicity, religion,” and sexual orientation (Karman, 2016, p. 3940). Under the First Amendment there is no exception to hate speech; although, hateful ideas are protected just as other ideas.
Not all animals need rights just the ones that are more associated with human life. For example, flies, cockroaches, mosquitoes, etc. won't need them because they are little insects that just carry bacteria and other types of diseases. Animals like whales in the film blackfish need rights because it shows how frustrated they get with the small space that they have to live in their whole lives. Giving rights to whales and other animals like dogs and cats etc. won't affect much the human culture because it's just going to give them a little more protection against human abuse towards
In my synthesis essay, the three selected readings, “Equality for Animals” by Peter Singer, “You Can’t Run away on Harvest Day” by Barbara Kingsolver, and “Animal, Vegetable, Miserable” by Gary Steiner, will answer the following question; What does it mean to eat ethically? What moral principles should guide our food choices and ways of eating? Between these three essays, they all made emphasis on how ethical eating is defined as sourcing food and eating it in ways that will not cause damage or injuries, neither physically nor mentally, to the food or the eater. Recently, people have expressed interest in where the meat and dairy they are consuming comes from and how it was raised.
We have to be the voice that will be heard. We have to be the advocates they never had. Animal testing is not only wrong for morals but humanly wrong. Yes we get advantages, but what price does that come with? Are we going to go as far as putting animal in extinction for our own benefit.
