She says that it is representative of her turning over a new leave and chapter in her life. Her mother received a call one day from the principle of the middle school saying that her daughter’s hair is against the schools dress code. Her mother believes that it is a racial problem, because there are other students at the school of other races, with the same hair style.

William sat on the edge of his seat and listened to Jeanette explain the organizational structure of Beacon Academy. “Beacon Academies are charter schools; we are accountable only to the state granting the charter, and a national board of directors. As charter schools, we are schools of choice - we derive our students from a variety of public school districts. If accepted, students who choose Beacon Academy sign a contract that commits them to the principles and operating conditions of the Beacon Academy enterprise. Our long-term goal is nothing short of a complete revolution of America’s system of compulsory public education that is determined based on student residency.
Good Afternoon Mike, I was told to contact you regarding Santa Fe College transferring in credits that I obtained for ACE credits. After speaking to Mary Thames in Health Services Department as well as Jackie (lead transcript evaluator) I was informed this morning that the college will not accept my credits because they were not obtained from a regionally accredited college. I am so incredibly saddened and disappointed with this news. It 's truly like ripping the floor right out from underneath me.
I chose Prairie View A&M University not only because of how historical the university is but, because of the outstanding number of students that have graduated from the college of nursing. Also, because I was chosen to be a part of the phenomenal dance team known as the Black foxes, then I decided that prairie view was the perfect school for me. After making this decision, things just started falling into place more and more each day. Prairie View has given me numerous opportunities as well as being offered the Target academic scholarship. As generous as the scholarship is it’s still not enough to cover the cost of attendance at Prairie view.

One of the challenges I faced was in freshman year when I decided to enroll in two high schools. I never adjusted to the fact that the half days at each school meant I would not be able to commit my time to either school. I believe I had a difficult time adjusting as I was not only balancing the academic rigor of Conard High School and dance school but, also the responsibilities that come with having a disabled father. The days were also fairly long, it was 6:00 am wake up to 6:00 pm when the bus dropped us off.
Motlow State Community College does not offer a cafeteria for students at the Smyrna Center. Constructing a cafeteria at Motlow State Community College would be beneficial for everyone, including the staff and students. A cafeteria would offer convenience for students and staff, increase the attendance rate, and allow students to engage in social interactions with one another. Not only is cafeteria favorable for the Motlow State community, but it would multiply the revenue for the school. Predominantly, constructing a cafeteria will improve the Smyrna campus as a whole.
