The clubs provide many opportunities including meeting new students, learn from others, and exploring things. I become a better communicator through presentations, speeches, and conversations in these experiences. The clubs help me to learn how to manage my time and to be connected to students and even the world. In addition, during my senior year, the International Club elected me as their President. As President, I became more adept at thinking, helping, and working which helped grow my leadership skills.
Physical Therapists are individuals that help their patients diminish pain and regain mobility, yet it means so much more. For me, becoming a Physical Therapist means I get to take part in enhancing a person’s life and seeing growth and change in their future. I get to use every single day what I have observed numerous times. I will experience so much from their gains; I will watch them push their self, break barriers, and achieve goals. While observing as an undergraduate, I have been able to help touch lives by helping and educating those who need it and those who want the change for a better, healthy lifestyle.

Furthermore, during my time in college I have been on several work experience in different residential care homes. Moreover, developing the skills I have gained from past experiences will not only allow me to progress on this course but also support me in providing the best quality of care. The passion I have in helping others will also maintain me too continuously deliver the 6 C’s of nursing that is stated in the Francis Report. During my time on placement in the care home, I enjoyed talking to each resident individually and putting into practice what I learnt in my communication lessons, I enjoyed developing relationships with them as they would tell me stories about themselves. The idea of supporting vulnerable people and ensuring their medical, physical and emotional requirements are met and full-filled is very vital to
Community service is not only about receiving hours to put on a resume, but it is something you do to guide others and make them feel better. An example of this was when I was part of the MLK day of service at Stockton University two years in a row where I sewed pillows and pins to support the unfortunate; this was a great experience where I was able to make new friends and contribute to the society.Service is not only about being part of large organizations, but it is also about doing small deeds for others, like staying after school and contributing to the club even if it is not mandatory. I also was part of Project Green where I picked up garbage on the beach and planted marram grass. I am the type of person that likes helping the elderly and the needy; so when I go to India, giving clothes and food to the boys and girls who have nothing to eat and sleep with an empty stomach is a priority to me during my trip. The Atlantic County Library is also somewhere I volunteer; helping young children read books and organizing craft days on the weekends.
Career development My current position as a fellow in the Division of Endocrinology has provided me a tremendous research opportunity and added to my enthusiasm to become an academic researcher in the field of beta-cell proliferation and regeneration. Under the guidance of my mentors, I started early in my fellowship training to explore that field by studying the prognostic outcome of auto islet cell transplantation in patients with chronic pancreatitis who undergo total pancreatectomy. Successful completion of that project was the starting point that prompted me to choose Dr. George Gittes, who is a well-known expert in that field. My long-term goal is to become an independent researcher in the field of beta cell proliferation and regeneration,
Joining a professional association for nurses is one of my short-term goals. In this association, I aim to identify mentors to spearhead my learning patterns. Similarly, I frequently attend specialty conferences besides getting involved in different exchange programs that improve my communication skills. On the other hand, one of my priorities in forming my long-term goal is to advance in educational career. Climbing up the ladder to achieve a master degree in nursing will be the first commendable achievement.
A few fundraising events in which our council has carried out include a Tie-Dye booth, countless bake sales, raffles, and the Color Fest. In addition to Student Council, I am responsible and dependable as a student and fellow peer. However, the reason why I feel I need to improve my leadership is because I need to demonstrate more leadership within the classroom. I will do this by speaking up more, offering opinions, giving feedback to the teachers on common issues all the students are facing, and so
I plan to continue my education full time because I understand the demands of an accelerated nursing program and preparation for the NCLEX test is a substantial commitment. I think the curriculum of the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a degree program that requires pre-requisite science classes and natural science classes, helped prepare me for the requirements nursing will bring. I have also take pathophysiology as an elective at MSU and completed the State of Ohio’s STNA course and examination. This background and the focus of being a full time nursing student should contribute towards success at Xavier in the accelerated nursing program and enable me to achieve my
One past leadership position that I held in high school was the presidential seat of National Honor Society. Through this leadership position, I’ve gained communication skills between teachers and fifty students in the organization. I’ve promoted and facilitated community service activities. I’ve also learned to engage actively with colleagues and branch out of my comfort zone, especially when it is something I am passionate about. As the president, I delegate responsibilities to board members that I worked closely with to achieve the organization’s goals.
The most character building experience in my life was when I joined the National Junior Honor Society in middle school. Engaging in NJHS has molded me into honing the attributes of leadership, citizenship, scholarship, service, and character. For instance, involving myself in community service like Relay For Life, not only aided me with the chance to assist my community but has helped me to develop citizenship and service. Furthermore, being in the organization has made me realize that I can assume the role of leadership and guide my fellow classmates by being a role model. Consequently, I became further aware of the importance of education and have been gradually becoming, increasingly studious.
My work ethic and determination would make me a good candidate for the Freshmen FFA Committee. A plan that I would propose would be partnering very active members with those less involved to build confidence over insecurity. I would describe the organization by saying it is not just for people that are farmers or live on a farm. FFA is an organization that gets you involved to meet new people. FFA activities build character and leadership qualities for life.
Furthermore, I lead some of my classes, teaching them how do some of the work while having patience and confidence as I help them. I want to join National Honor Society for several reasons. I want to gain more leadership experiences as I surround myself with people have have the same academic goals as me. This club has volunteering
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
