Biomass Biomass is a source of energy that can be or is used to generate electrical energy, this energy is sustainable and renewable source of energy. The main source of this energy is wood and there are other sources such as solid wastes (residues). These sources are found on non-food plants and forests. To convert biomass energy to electrical energy is by extracting energy from plants, trees and solid waste by different methods. Biomass is not directly converted to electrical energy but several modes of conversion and extraction apply first before the main product. Here are the modes of conversion: 1. Chemical conversion [4]There are many chemical processes that are used to convert biomass sources of energy to other forms to get electrical energy. The most known method is gastification where pressure is fed into the vessels containing energy from the solid wastes and causes combustion. The products of combustion are mixed combustibles gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen and other methane bonding. The gases form a fuel that is injected into the internal combustion engine as a substitute of furnace oil normally used. 2. Biochemical conversion This is a …show more content…

This means that wood would be conserved for burning and this conservation will leave nature diversity harmed. The removal of trees can harm the health of personnel and animals because life scientists believe that trees offer oxygen and inhale the other harmful gases from the prime movers. And the burning of these trees will contribute air pollution where there air will be filtrated by smoke and the ozone layer is depleted. Studies show that the biomass station will be advantageous if is built on tropical areas and forests because the main resource would not be a problem and it will be far from domestics (living
