5 ways to identify the “black sheep” in your organization Every organization has its own black sheep or weak link. If you do not understand what I mean by black sheep, id describe it a little bit better for you. Black sheep in a company are those people that known or unknown to them, do not want the company to move forward and achieve goals. They may be unknowingly doing this with their nonchalant behaviour and inability to keep to deadlines, or they may know fully well that they represent a clog in the erstwhile well-oiled machine that is your company. Check for signs of tardiness: Time is very important to how efficient your business is. If you have noticed that some employees find it particularly hard to arrive early for meetings and other work related events, you have successfully spotted your black sheep. This inability to keep to time will hurt your business in more ways than you can imagine. If you fail to do something about it very early, it just may lead to the demise of your operations. Punctuality is very important in the corporate world. A lot of foreign clients use this as a major decider for whether or not to partner with another company. Needing more supervision than others: If a particular employee always needs more supervision than others even for simple tasks, then that employee just may be your black sheep. This may occur as a result of the fact that you simply do not trust that employee’s capability to achieve results. If you always have to micromanage a particular set of employees, they are no good for your company. Every company employs individuals and pays them because of their ability to use their initiative and make decisions of their own. 5. Constant complaining: Some employees will always find one thing or the other to complain about even if they are getting paid millions of dollars to do the job. This is one of the quickest ways to identify employees that may be trouble. In their eyes, there will always seem to be one thing or the order that isn’t up to par.
