Final Justification -Blackfish- “We can tame and love wild animals so we should capture them, to educate and entertain humans.” The real question is, why would someone believe taking these living breathing animals away from the place God put them like it’s okay, as if it’s normal. I think it’s quite obvious i'm against orcas in captivity. “Can you imagine being in a small concrete enclosure for your life when you’re used to swimming 100 miles a day?”-Blackfish. These animals are very big and should be able to roam free but instead they are put into a pool. A pool. We don’t take human children away from their families and put them on display for everyone to gawk and point. I mean, where's the humanity in that? Orcas love the same way we do, …show more content…
“I think that in 50 years, we’ll look back and go ‘My God, what a barbaric time.’”-Blackfish. It is terrible that people today see nothing wrong with training these animals to entertain others. This quote from the movie is actually really accurate. Right now some people will think it’s fine because it’s been this way for a long time, but these animals are going crazy. Simple as that. These animals are pretty much just like us, they feel the same way, they love, they grieve. “All whales in captivity have a bad life. They’re all emotionally destroyed. They’re all psychologically traumatized. So they’re ticking time bombs.”-Blackfish. Tilly was a young orca surrounded by female adult orcas. When doing training, he was put under the pressure of doing everything correctly or he would be punished. Not only would people send him away without food, but the female orcas as well. The females were angry with Tilly, so they would physically abuse him when they were put away for the night. Each day you could see new scrapes and wounds on him. I believe that Tilly was so fed up with being tortured each day, that he lashed out on the trainer. These are sensitive creatures, and would never hurt a person intentionally. On the second attack, it is believed that a man, drunk, snuck in after hours and went for a swim. Record states that the cause of death was drowning but interviews believe there were marks found on the mans body such as teeth marks. In the last attack, my opinion would be that people were being absolutely vile trying to cover up saying it was the trainers fault but she had done nothing wrong at all. They made excuses such as her ponytail was provoking him and that is what caused Tilly to grab her and drag her down to the bottom of the pool. Looking back at his violent records, I believe SeaWorld
