Apple is a leading company in the world. Apple became as an industrial leader with its variety of products, such as mobile phones, computers, notebook, iPad and tablet. These products are revolutionized the industry. Apple introduce products to the market in each time by using unique design in both hardware and software. The company has created Apple is a valuable brand in the global market. Success of the Company strong brand loyalty help to increase revenue growth from $ 8 billion in 2004 to $215 in 2016 (The statistic portal, 2016). As per the BCG report, Apple rank as a number one company out of fifty companies since 2005 (2015).

Apple use blue ocean strategy to remove competition and create a new market for new products. Blue ocean strategy helps to the Apple company to develop their own market rather than trying to beat competitors to reach top in the market. Apple iTunes is a good example of Apple blue ocean strategy. The company introduced iTunes in 2003, they introduced new digital music concept and created online music where people have ability to download quality music for reasonable price. Apple design process is a good example of the closed innovation. Every week, Apple arrange two meetings for designers and engineers. They can provide their crazy and brainstorming ideas during the meeting. After that, they work out how their idea might actually work. Apple identify their employees’ talents and knowledge and use them to the company innovation. Some would argue that Apple has open innovation because they use external recourses to develop their products. However, Apple is a unique company, therefore they do not need open innovation to create the products and also other companies cannot replicate Apple products, because they use closed innovation to build great products.
