• Keep all follow-up visits as directed by your health care provider. This is important.
• Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if your vision is blurry.
SEEK MEDICAL CARE IF:
• Your symptoms get worse.
• You have new symptoms.
SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE IF:
• You have severe eye pain.
• You have a severe headache.
• You have a sudden loss of vision.
The strain on my eye remaining open was great and caused some tension behind my eyes. I found that I felt as though I was going to trip, like my balance was somehow thrown off, but only slightly. I knew where things were in my brain but I felt that what I was seeing

Try to sleep or call an ambulance? Morning sun entered our bedroom and I could see normally. I was overjoyed that whatever happened to me during the night
Vision, one of the most important senses humans and animals have. Without sight, we are instantly vulnerable and require extra time before we can fully adapt. However there is literal vision and a deeper level of vision. Clear vision is the ability to see and analyze people and situations on a deeper level. Many people like the narrator of Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man, do not realize they are actually blind until they complete their hero’s journey and gain clear vision.
A thousand flashlights shine in my eyes. The world tilts. I throw up. I black out. This happens all the time.
All patients underwent primary closure of the open globe injury within 24 hours; delayed closure is another known risk factor for endophthalmitis and poor visual outcome.3The mechanism of injury, penetrating trauma, as opposed to blunt trauma, is also associated with better prognosis.2Hammering, cutting, and welding metal as a mechanism of open globe injury all convey a higher risk of a concurrent IOFB.11On the other hand, Greven et al found in a large series that hammering metal as the mechanism of IOFB actually was associated with superior visual acuity outcomes.9Similarly, Valmaggia et al reported a large series of posterior segment metallic IOFBs from hammering in which more than 80% of patients had final visual acuity of 20/40 or better.12A final factor was the location of entry wound. All three cases featured primarily zone 1 injuries, involving only the cornea and limbus, as defined by the Ocular Trauma Classification Group.1Zone 1 injury carries a better prognosis than either zone 2 (limbus to 5mm posterior into sclera) or zone 3 (posterior to 5mm from the
d. nipple discharge-Nipple discharge is fairly common. Discharge is usually a benign condition if it is elicited and occurs in both nipples or from multiple ducts. Unilateral nipple discharge is more concerning, and any spontaneous discharge from either breast requires further investigation. Most concerning is red (bloody) or clear. e. skin changes-The mammographer should note any bulging of the skin, protruding areas that change the shape of the breast, and any swelling.
My hands bounced off the steering wheel and slapped my eye! I couldn’t think. I could feel my eye swelling, getting larger and larger. Uncontrollable tears poured down my cheeks. Pain surged through my whole face.
(There are no Rs on the standard eye chart, but many people see them there.) The letters O, Q, and C are confused with one another. Most people learn that they have astigmatism when they are examined to determine the cause of blurred vision. Hard contact lenses have a spherical front surface that bends the light.
This may be due to mechanical trauma (blunt or penetrating), thermal injuries, chemical agents or radiation.1 Ocular trauma is an important cause of visual impairment and a leading cause of preventablemonocular blindness.2 Worldwide there are approximately 1.6 million people blind from eyeinjuries, an additional 2.3 million people with bilateral low vision from this cause, and almost19 million with unilateral blindness or low vision.3The global pattern of eye injuries and theirconsequences suggest that 55 million eye injuries restricting activities more than one day, occur each year and 750,000 cases will require hospitalization each year.3,4Data from the National Centre for Health Statistics' Health Interview Survey, conducted in1977, estimated that nearly 2.4 million eye injuries occur in the United States yearly.5 Thisreport also estimated that nearly one million Americans have permanent significant visualimpairment due to injury, with more than 75% of these individuals being monocularly blind. Eye injury is a leading cause of monocular blindness in the United States, and is second onlyto cataract as the most common cause of visual impairment.2,5In developing countries, eye injuries are not only more common but also more severe in theireffect and this may be attributed to socioeconomic background, inadequate safety measures, lack of
Sunblock It doesn’t matter what skin tone you have or what the weather is like, you should always apply sunblock before you head out, and go for an SPF 30. 46. Upgrade Your Eyewear Whether you wear glasses or contacts if you haven’t had your eyes checked a while you could be squinting unnecessarily. Instead of risking fine lines around your eyes, make the optician an annual thing.
