The French Revolution was a drastic time for the people of France. In 1789, the majority of people were living in poverty and dealing with terrible conditions. People were split into three estates: the first, second, and third, the first being the wealthiest. Political, economic, and social situations were what contributed to people’s desire for change. In my point of view, living in Canada between 1914 - 1929 would have some gratifying events and a few dreadful ones too. I will be justifying this statement with five specific events, Vimy Ridge, Winnipeg General Strike, Chinese Exclusion Act, creation of the first batteryless radio and the Stock Market Crash. The first circumstance would be Vimy Ridge April 9, 1917. This would be one of the exceptional events that happened between 1914-1929.
The German American Bund Could you imagine being a German American in the 1930 's having to support Hitler and sending your kids to German American schools and Hitler youth camps that practiced Nazism? Well this was exactly what occurred in the late 1930s for some German American families during this time. This was an organization of people who thought it was highly appropriate to bring Hitler’s beliefs to America for all German Americans to follow. They had lots of the same facilities they had in Germany at the time and even did the same Hitler salute to the same Nazi sign flag. The German American bund was a failure of trying to bring Nazism to America and it was led by Fritz Kuhn who also led it to its downfall.

These ideas of enlightenment brought to society by French revolutionaries influenced the French Revolution down the line. Their were things that caused the Revolution like the financial state of the common people in France, the political system, and the way the Estates General was set up. All of those led to effects like the “Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen”, the execution of King Louis XVI, and the Rise of Napoleon as well as his Revolution.
