Recently Police Departments have been using these such body cameras and have seen significant results. Although some people may not like body cams, their benefits are too important to ignore. There has been many citizens that have complained about the use of body cameras. Police Officers have commented that these body cameras invade unwanted personal privacy. Some Police Officers believe that body cameras will not help decrease force by Police Officers because a
Either way there needs to be something that can protect the public from police misconduct and also protect law enforcement from dealing with false accusations that can tarnish their reputation. That is why body worn cameras need to be mandatory for all police officers to wear because it protects the public and the police officers that are wearing them. A couple positive outcomes police officers wearing body cameras is how they can lower police officers misuse of authority and also lower false complaints against officers as well. These are two
Body camera will be very useful to support a case. Having a video for a case will be a great evidence to prove someone is guilty or innocent. Not only its very helpful towards a case but it will also show the police officers behavior towards other people. It will also help citizens attitude and behavior towards the officers or people Even though it will invade their privacy but this will help maintain a good condition towards the
Consistently, guns have been misused by the citizens there should be law where everyone can keep the rights to firearm but still safe for others. Political and federal needs to come together and agree to set laws and rules on gun control. In today 's news, we have watched mass events occur and don 't have full information, but sadly it was used by guns. In other words, many issues involve guns, such as racisms, safety, mental illness, and not enough knowledge on gun rights. However, gun control is only a concern when some mass shootings happens such as: school shootings, airports, clubs, hotels, churches, malls, etc.
Throughout history, disputes and tensions between law enforcement officials and communities of minorities have endured hostility and violence between each other. Racial profiling has become a “hot topic” for researchers as well as for politicians and by now it is likely that most citizens are at least aware of the common accusations of racial bias pitted against law enforcement (Cochran & Warren, 2013). Communities of color are being discriminated against and racially profiled by white police officers for any suspicion of criminal activities. It has been widely assumed by policy makers and citizens alike that allegations of racial profiling are mostly associated with the policing practices of white officers and their treatment of racial and ethnic minorities (Cochran & Warren, 2013). Also, individuals of minority descent will certainly recognize that they are being racially profiled during a stop that is being conducted by a white police officer.
Introduction There are several different programs focused on offenders. These programs range from religious, educational, medical and job training related. The main goal in each program is to reduce the chances of them returning back to their old habit that originally placed them in jail or in other words reduce recidivism. Recidivism is a very important element in the criminal justice system, because reducing or increasing the number of re-offenses in the community could be beneficial or make the community flood with criminals and their behavior. Without a focus on recidivism, officers will be arresting the same offenders repeatedly and the individual will not be getting the help they need, which could be the difference of them being a productive member of society or not.
The United states and their police forces are doing the best they can to help keep the peace, but from bad publicity and less community policing they can barely hold on. Also anti-police movements of citizens who disagree with the force officer's use during arrests makes the officer's concern for safety even greater. However, the media will only report the negative sides of police and their duties they do everyday. Next the police are targeted by people and have been in the 60s and more recently in the past couple months. In the 1960s Police were targeted by the Black Panther party and had at least 13 planned killings of police that the authorities know of.
Miranda cautions are a high point of dispute in the law enforcement scene. There are many misunderstandings as to when "Miranda" applies. First, I explain about Miranda rights to their family because it’s important to know these basics. If we aren’t in police care then we don’t have to give them Miranda warnings. We mention all the matter in front of boy’s family and asked the officer that when police officers question a suspect in custody without first giving the Miranda warning, any statement or confession made is supposed to be instinctive, and cannot be used against the suspicious in any criminal case.
But, whether the shooting was justified and self defense or not, people simply don't buy it. They riot and call the police liars, refusing to believe multiple coroners reports and witnesses testimony. The media spreads controversy and reports on select stories often times while having only a little information, spreading lies and mistrust. It has become very clear that something needs to change fast, but what can be done? I strongly believe that requiring every police officer across the
Police officers have vowed their life to protect and serve. They risk their lives every day for their communities. As the last few years have sped past us, police officers have been very aggressive with the force they use when arresting a suspect, or even people in general. According to a Texas article on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights, “police officers typically use force offensively rather than defensively and do so with at least some degree of premeditation.” (Gross,2013, page 167). Many police officers get off easily because they call it as self-defense, but it’s not.
