He continued his service as an undercover agent capturing some of the most wanted criminals until about 2001 when he was sent to Washington D.C to work at NCIS headquarters. Here he formed his own team and continued his work at NCIS until 2021, when he finally decided that it was time to
He was promoted all the way to captain. After the war he went back to portsmouth and with the money he had he started a lumber company called walnut lumber co. There he spent the majority of his time in the field training and was deployed to Panama for Jungle Operations Training. He returned to Fort Ord where training continued, and he spent the duration of his enlistment. After much thought and consideration, he left the Army in winter of 1986 and returned to Littleton. Like many war veterans who return suffering from severe depression and mental illness he reached a point where he couldn’t go on and decided to end his life. Even though it may have appeared like an accident, he killed himself using a car. He intentionally walked out in front of the car which struck and killed him. Mr. Weems was a Vietnam veteran and he came every day to the library with his bags and read war books.
The story I chose to write about was about a woman named Karri Ludwig upon her fourth return home. It follows her story, from the time she enlisted, to this return. She had originally joined the military, like most, to get money for college. On September 11th she was a divorced single mother stationed in Germany with two boys. Like many others, what it meant to be a soldier changed.
In this Bill O’Reilly book Killing Kennedy, O’Reilly breaks down John Fitzgerald’s rise to political power as president. Part I starts with JFK cheating death. Before Kennedy's presidency, he had already cheated death three times (O’Reilly, Duggard 19). The first time was when he was the skipper of PT boat number 109. He was not paying close enough attention and allowed the Japanese Amagiri to sneak up on him.
Suspect is about an LAPD officer named Scott James. In the beginning of the book, Scott was not doing well. Eight months ago, his partner Stephanie was killed in a nighttime assault. After the night Stephanie was killed, Scott was ashamed and angry because of what had happened. Scott felt that he didn’t seem fit to be a police officer anymore.
In the Book “Fearless” Adam Brown is the main character and grows from a young boy who loves to do crazy out of the blue stunts to one of the top and most trained SEALS in the United States. ADam Brown Achieved his American Dream but probably not the way he wanted to. Adam went through a “Dark” time in his life that ultimately got him to became the best of the best. This is how his story when and how even if it was hard he still got to achieve the dream he longed for. From the “Dark” times, to the pain he went through, and finally the end of his journey.
In the short story The Sniper, Liam O’Flaherty recounts a story of an Irish sniper fighting for the republican army during the Irish Civil War. He wrote this short story based on his experience with time at war. Liam o’flaherty illustrates how war can reduce the value of family and human lives, betrayal, and suspense. In this essay I will be discussing these major themes as well as comparing this story to books such as The Odyssey and others containing similar themes. This essay also will discuss how suspense is used in Liam O’Flaherty’s The Sniper.
Columbine, by Dave Cullen is a non-fiction book documenting the horrific massacre which took place in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999. Not only does the writer give great detail about the shooting itself, he also gives and in depth look into the lives of the killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, and their victims. The focus of this book is for the author to attempt to bring to light what really happened and hopefully gain better understanding as to why it all took place. Cullen, a journalist, begins an extensive nine year research in order to achieve awareness of the happenings before, during and after this tragic event. Entries from the perpetrators personal journals, stories from the ones who witnessed the shootings first hand, countless interviews from the victim’s families, as well as multiple other pieces of information give the reader an extremely up close and personal surrounding Columbine.
Chris Kyle Chris Kyle killed a total of 160 people in Iraq. He was known as the most lethal sniper in American history. Chris led a simple life up until he joined the Navy SEALs(Sea, air and land). Chris Kyle was known as the “Devil of Ramadi” by Iraqi insurgents. Chris Kyle grew up as a cowboy and went into the military to become America's most lethal sniper before he was shot and killed in 2013.
Chasing Lincoln’s Killer by: James L. Swanson I will be writing about how Lincoln’s killer John W. Booth as he assassinated Mr. Abraham. His plans continued to fail, but he kept trying. John came from a long line of family with good fortune. John Booth was a Confederate it had been a bad week for the Confederacy. John said “(he would enjoy a stunning reversal of fortune)”.
The Life Of Kennedy “The man with fewer than three and a half years to live has his left hand on the Bible.” Not even a page into this book really gets you to think that everything can change in an instance. I feel that O’Reilly chose those words to stick out to people because time is never promised, tomorrow may never come.
According to the film and book “American Sniper", Chris only felt bad about the lives he couldn 't save, not the ones he did. He had no problem killing the enemy but could not bear to see his fellow servicemen be killed. Many marines look up to him as a savior because he was their only protection when walking down hostile streets. Enemy soldiers would hide and ambush so Kyle would prevent them from ambushing.
