Madeleine L 'Engle a French author created a blend of science and fairy tale magic for developing the story line in her book A Wrinkle in Time. The book is one big journey with three main characters. From the beginning Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin go on multiple adventures filled with fun, crazy, exciting moments. This book is completed with many obstacles in the way of the trio. A sure perspective that is extremely predominant in this book is love.
Joe Meek discovered Yellowstone Plateau. He was a mountain man. Mountain men were really into getting beaver, to make hats, as they were a popular fashion. There were four times as many french mountain men than american. There was a yearly meet up and they spent most of their money there.

All the Pretty Horses, by Cormac McCarthy, is set in Texas right outside of the Mexico border. The book opens with John Grady, a sixteen year old boy, attending his grandfather’s funeral. His father seems to have lung cancer, but this is not directly stated.
I would agree with Mr. Abbey about the damnation of the canyon but he could have made a better argument. I am positive that he used a logical fallacy in this text. “This argument appeals to the wheelchair ethos of the wealthy, upper-middle-class American slob” Specifically an ad hominem. In my opinion he is being rude on purpose in the text.
Coyote Kills the Giant In the Story “Coyote Kills the Giant” by Alfonso Ortiz and Richard Erdoes show the theme of setting goals to accomplish what you want, because the author wanted to transmit the attitude of the Coyote of never settling down on seeking to kill the Giant. The story display the theme of being brave and stay positive, Coyote says, ‘I’ll hit the giant over the head with this, it’s big enough to kill him.’ (Ortiz and Erdoes, Page 74), this quote shows that the author shows the Coyote as a brave character. Another quote in the story, “as he had guessed, they were indeed the giant’s fat and meat, and he used it to feed the starving people”(Ortiz and Erdoes, page 75), this quote shows how brave, positive, decisive and exceedingly intelligent Coyote is,
Buck is being called into the wild. His life events changed who he was and sent him free in spirit and body. Once Thornton was kill Buck was able to be free and just be a wild dog with the others (napierkowski). In my opinion, this book shouldn’t have been in the category of banned and challenged books.
In the novel of the Call of the Wild, Buck tried to adapt to his new and difficult life. He was forced to help the men find gold; he experienced a big transformation in him. At the end, he transformed into a new and different dog. Buck went through physical, mental and environmental changes. In my essay, I talked about how Buck was like at the beginning, what he changed into, and how he was forced to adapt his new environment, and underwent these changes.
Most people envision a perfect place as a place peaceful and secluded. However, this place may not always seem perfect. A canyon that is a perfect, untouched place is the setting for the short story All Gold Canyon by Jack London. This story has a human vs. nature conflict in it that is the basis for the whole story. To truly understand this story one must know that symbolism of nature, the conflicts, and why Jack London probably wrote this story.
The book Holes by Louis Sachar takes place at Camp Green Lake, Texas. It isn't just any camp, it is a dried up lake in the middle of a desert used for disciplining juvenile delinquents. Native to the region are the lethal yellow-spotted lizard and the rattlesnake. Native to the camp is the Warden. The Warden is most like the rattlesnake because of their physical characteristics, living habits, and striking method.
