I finished the book Famous Last Words by Katie Alender with 312 pages. This book is about a girl, Willa, who is suffering from hallucinations and memories from a ghost; also, do not forget her recent move to Los Angeles. Her new found friend, Wyatt, has been looking into the latest news on the “Hollywood Killer.” With Willa’s clues from a ghost and Wyatt’s gathered information, they both team up to find this man or woman roaming Los Angeles. In this paper I will be evaluating and predicting.
This first paragraph will be evaluating the ghost, Paige Pollen, and her motives. Why did Paige choose to haunt Willa, why not some random guy in Oregon, or someone that lives in Europe? As there are many answers to this deep question, one could be her position, where she

The writing always gave Willa clues, whether or not if she knew what they stood for. One example was part of a script one of the victims read, and another was “Henry 818.” Towards the end of the novel, Willa finds that Henry is a character in a murder scene Paige was forced to play in; Reed played Henry. She also found that 818 stood for August 8th; Paige’s date of death. The last major hallucination Willa receives multiple times would be rose petals. When Willa thought she was going to die, she saw a rose petal, a sign that Paige was there. Other times there was a trail of rose petals that guided Willa to evidence or a clue. Willa also receives visions from Paige. She has seen and felt what some of the victims were feeling and saw from their eyes. Through these visions, she has gathered a lot of information and put some pieces together about the Hollywood Killer and his ways. Willa has caught some of the lines in the script the victims read and the different settings as well. The last form of connections Willa receives from Paige was through physical contact. At the moment, Willa did not understand, but Paige unscrewed all of the lightbulbs in her bathroom and was

The book that I chose to read for the first quarter is called “The Princess of Iowa”. This book was written by M. Molly Backes. I was really excited to read this book because it mentioned Iowa on the front cover. This book is about a teenage girl named Paige who is from Iowa. She is very popular and her life seems to be perfect.
Some connections that I have with the book Year of impossible goodbyes is that my mother used to live in Asia for a very long time. I also have a younger sibling, but mine is a girl, that I have to take care of if my parents aren 't around. But the biggest connection I have to this book is that I have a brother, just like Sookan, that I don 't get to see very often because he is married and has two kids. Throughout the book of year of Impossible Goodbyes Sookan is very brave when she goes to school, washes her grandfather’s feet and when she makes it to the south.
Three years of service, fifteen months overseas, five major campaigns, three purple hearts, two bronze stars, and one silver star. An epitaph is defined as "A short poem, saying or other message on a gravestone in memory of a deceased person. " With that in mind, I wrote a poem explaining the death of May, Laurel's sister. I chose this type of poem because it is the perfect format to explain how May died. The poem begins with the story of how she was dating an older man named Paul and would go on dates with him during her and Laurel's "movie nights. " While she was on her dates, she left Laurel with one of Paul's friends, who ended up sexually harassing her every time they were alone.
Throughout the book Behind Closed Doors, by B.A Paris, the author demonstrated fear, sacrifice, loss, loneliness, and freedom but the one that stood out the most was power. Many aspects throughout the book identify with power such as; Jack, Thailand, Jack’s appearance, fear, Millie, etc. The book is mainly based off power because it is what Jack craves and what Grace does not have enough of. Power is significant because it is what basically makes the book, but the author also shows small details that also contain plenty amount of power. If Jack did not have power, then he would never have had Grace captive and he would not have made decisions over every aspect of her life.
Finding Wyatts book makes Willa and him closer friends. Willa almost loses it when she finds out Reed, her stepfather 's assistant is the Hollywood killer when she is being kept in custody by him. She ends up finding a way to get lose and some help. That’s when Jonathan
There are many motifs that can be analyzed in ghost literature and folklore, though one that is ever present throughout the beginning of the telling of ghost stories is the motif of the suicide ghost. This ghost manifests after the untimely demise of an individual who takes their own life. This motif is intriguing, because of its complex nature and the fact that this motif persists through time, as it is seen in early ghost stories to the most recent accounts of ghosts. The suicide victim is often seen as returning as a ghost, because of the idea that these victims have unfinished business and internal turmoil. The suicide ghost motif persists because of the fascination of the premature death, along with the idea of understanding the internal
Ray Bradbury’s, The Whole Town’s sleeping, is about a woman Lavinia Nebbs, who is going to the theatre with her 2 friends, Francine and Helen. After the theatre trip, the friends head home. However, Lavinia senses someone is following her.
Learning and Impressions. Throughout my research and interviews for this paper I have learned so much. I never understood the history of PTSD and how it became a part of the DSM V. It scares me a bit that it wasn’t a diagnosis is written off as a norm until the 80’s. When reading about PTSD in The Last True Story I’ll Ever Tell by John Crawford, I learned that sometimes you couldn’t trust everything being told to you from someone who just left a war zone.
Throughout The Last Shot: City Streets, Basketball Dreams, Russell Thomas has shown again and again that he is a restless, ambitious person willing to do whatever it takes to reach his goal of getting a job as a nurse. This biography was written by Darcy Frey in 1991, showcasing the lives of four students from Lincoln High School who tried to make it out of the neglected Coney Island through basketball. Frey talked about the struggles of living in a community where violence was common, and where success was elusive for many. As a result of the problems of the deficient education system, family conflicts, and the adversities of college signings, basketball seemed like the only way to get out of poverty and despair, especially for people like Thomas. When Frey spots Thomas watching his friend Tchaka play
