Elie Wiesel, the author of Night, was born in a town of Sighet, Transylvania, which is now known as Romania, in the year 1928 of September 30th. Elizer had three sisters and was pursuing Jewish religious studies at a nearby yeshiva, before failing to flee the country for safety from the Nazi Germany Soldiers. At the age of 15, he, along with his family and the entire Jewish population, were expelled from their hometowns and were forced to relocate to concentration camps. Due to this outcome, Elie and his father were separated from his mother and sister and was deported to a concentration camp in Auschwitz in 1944.
