The book, Night, by Elie Wiesel is a memoir about the dreadful Holocaust in which Wiesel survived. The Wiesel family consisted of Elie, his two older sisters, Hilda and Bea, and younger sister, Tzipora, and parents. The family lived in the town of Sighet, Transylvania before they were shipped off to war but were then relocated to a ghetto at the beginning of the Holocaust. Elie met Moshe the Beadle in 1941 when he was about thirteen years old. Moshe the Beadle was a shtibl who was transported to one of the camps before some of the other Jews and was shot and pretended to be dead so that he could escape and return home to warn the other Jews about such occurrences but they would not listen to him. Elie’s family was deported on a Saturday,
The book Night by Elie Wiesel is about Elie and his father and how they have to trust each other, have confidence, and never give up each other no matter what happens. In this book Elie and his family are sent to concentration camps. Elie and his family and have to work hard together. Elie and his family cannot give up and have to believe. There are many challenges during their journey and they have to survive through them.
During the Holocaust about 500,000 to 750,000 people were murdered due to their religion. Elie Wiesel was one of the people who survived this tragic event and wrote Night to bring attention and to inform about how it happened. The book Night is a nonfiction book about how Elie Wiesel lived in the town of Sighet as a child and was put into a concentration camp. He was put in a concentration camp because he is Jewish and was growing up during World War 2, when Hitler ordered the extermination of all Jewish people. This book is well written and fits all of my criteria for what makes a book worth reading.
The book Night is a very descriptive book about the holocaust and the man who wrote the book Elie Wiesel has showed the cruelty that people can be but also shows how people still resist to what was happening to them not a mass of people but enough for him to notice. “A violin in a dark barrack where the dead were piled on top of the living? Who was this madman who played the violin here, at the edge of his own grave?” (Wiesel 95). The person who played the violin was a kid around the same age as Elie named Juliek.
Night, a beautifully written book by Eli Wiesal. He tells the story of what went on in the Holocaust and the struggles he faced to live through it. Elie constantly gets abused and treated like a pest throughout the whole book. The holocaust changed him and almost made him lose his will to live, humanity, and his family. He still powered through until he got liberated by America.
Many people are unaware about the Holocaust and its tragedies. Many don’t think about the concentration camps and the horrors inside of them. Night is a memoir written by Elie Wiesel. The memoir tells of his experiences and life inside of the concentration camps during the Holocaust and how survived the horrific place known as Auschwitz. Elie Wiesel named his first book Night as the times written about in the book were some of the darkest times in his life because of the way he was treated, the suffering he went through, and because of his father’s death.
The book I read was Night written by Elie Wiesel this book takes place at Nazi concentration camps called Auschwitz and Buchenwald during the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel's main reason in writing Night was to show the world what he expierenced and to show what destruction mankind can do to each other. I also believe Wiesel wrote Night to prevent the horrific things that happened during the Holocaust to happen again. Another reason I think Wiesel wrote Night was to remember all the people that died at the hands of the Nazis so they can not be forgotten. When I first read Night my first thought was disbelief because I could not believe how much pain was inflicted on the Jews during the Holocaust and how Elie survived the Nazi concentration camps to
The world, hate, and religion. How the Holocaust brings this altogether. Like a child we trust and believe in what we are told. We are excited to learn more. In this book called Night Elie Wiesel was excited to learn more about his religion and the study of Kubbalah.
What a Time to be Alive “To forget a Holocaust is to kill twice”(Elie Wiesel). The book “Night” was published on 1956 and it was written by Elie Wiesel. This book was about a boy’s experience in the Holocaust. Throughout “Night” there are three moments that are incredibly powerful to focus on and understand to fully grasp the importance of this holocaust memoir. They show the reader how Moshe the Beadle told the news to the public, Also how the woman was yelling fire over and over, And how Elie’s dad died a few months before he got saved.
People in the 1935 suffered a lot by their new leader Hitler who tortured billions of people just for their beliefs and religion and the way they were. Hitler did death camps for people like Jews, Nazis, and Communist (etc.).Germany people exterminated the Jews in Nineteen-Thirty three through Nineteen- forty five in Europe because Hitler thought he was the ruler, he didn’t like the Jews because of their religion he thought they invaded there land. The book Night is an autobiography written by Elie Wiesel, Then first they came for the communist it's a autobiography by Martin Neimoller. People would get burned in a crematorium because the Germen's didn’t like the Jews and other people.
Have you ever woken up not knowing if you will live to wake up again? Elie Wiesel suffered many afflictions during his time held captive in German concentration camps, from being dehumanized to starved, his experiences changed his entire life. His autobiography, Night, portrays his horrific struggles during World War II. Elie Wiesel certainly deserves his biography; out of the millions who were sent to these terrible death camps, he not only survived, but went on to inspire millions as an author, philosopher, and public speaker. Elie was a religious fifteen year old boy living in Sighet, but when his town was overtaken by the Germans, his life turned upside down.
When the SS officer came over to Elie and his father, they both lied about their ages and Elie about his profession. Both Elie and his father were sent to the left and were told by another inmate “Poor
In the autobiography, Night, by Elie Wiesel, the Jews were forced out of their homes; concentration camps. In the concentration camps there was only two options… you work or die. Most likely, death was your choice. Wiesel was only fifteen when he and his family were forced into concentration camps. He was in different concentration camps for a year so he’s seen a lot of disturbing things.
Night is an autobiography by Elie Wiesel and his time in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. His story starts in 1994 Sighet, Wiesel’s hometown, when Polish soldiers turn it into a ghetto, and eventually shipping all the Jews to Auschwitz Concentration Camp when the resistance gets too close to their town. There Elie is permanently separated from his mother and sister, but remains with his father, transported to Buna Concentration Camp, and eventually liberated in 1945, a few months after his father dies. I really liked Night, despite it being extremely heartbreaking. It let me understand the horror and depth of what happened to Jews in Germany during World War II and made me feel so sorry for Elie Wiesel; even at one point, bringing
They are forced to walk and run a long distance to board train cars, not knowing where their destination. Elie travels in a car with his family and a few neighbors. They were warned that if they tried to escape they would be shot down on the spot. By now, any hopes of Elie’s of this being a good change were crushed. They were let out of the train cars and separated by gender.
“We shall meet again” Those are the last words of a victim of this cruel and horrid genocide of the Jewish religion, better known as the Holocaust. Night is the best title for this book, Darkness is all the Jews could see in the gas chambers. Night is the best title for this book because of the darkness, loneliness, and scariness the word night is associated with. The first example is when the Jews are being separated into 2 groups like cattle in chapter 3. Second example is when Eli and his father see the burning of little infants.
