For example there are 3 main learning styles these are Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic.
My attitude to team members and students is marked by respect and courtesy, and I am prepared to exchange viewpoint and ideas with all. Moreover, I enjoy sharing resources and gladly
The team is divided into groups based on both ability and location. This presents challenges to the team. Robbins and Judge state that “a team’s performance depends in part on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of individual members”. (Robbins and Judge, 2017) The abilities and goals of a 5-year-old just starting out vary greatly from the senior in high school that is trying to earn a college scholarship.
SCI411 Academic and personal development Portfolio: Part 1 From not being in education for a few years, being able to recognise my own academic skills, strengths and weaknesses was quite difficult. However, over these first couple of weeks in lectures my learning strengths and weaknesses have made themselves apparent. Whilst filling out the questionnaire Skills Self-Assessment Audit (Theeducators, 2013) it took a lot of understanding of the questions to be able to answer honestly, and my lowest scores reflected this in the personal effectiveness category. Power by Linda Hogan is a well-described epic novel that speaks for a perspective that people are yet to identify. This book displays a side of U.S., which people do not know of that talk about the conflict between the white and Native world. The Native American’s voice tells that they find the current world full of alienation and harsh for existence since western thinking and Christian thought dominates. Writers use personification for various purposes such as to enhance emotion in a reader, which Hogan successfully employs in her book. In power, the author does not only narrate a story in her novel but also gives examples through characterizing nature and landscape.
Zakaria also states: "thinking makes you a better writer." Clear thinking skills means that someone can organize their thoughts logically and convincingly which is critical to learning
Lencioni presented in the book three virtues that make up the ideal team player; they are as follows: humility, hunger, and smarts. Ironically, these traits must be taught, and not inherent. However, it is through life and work experiences that will implore these traits in people’s lives. Lencioni writes that when these qualities are not exhibited in people, it is hard for them to become the ideal team player and hard to build a competent
Teams are more important than ever and can help a company quickly achieve its goals. To assemble a successful team, team members should see each other as equal peers, agree on the work and be trained on skill sets and on how to be a team player. It is crucial
In week 4, we went over how to understand the different types of teams, what were the strengths and weaknesses of each team. In the course we discuss innovation team, cross-cultural team, permanent team, temporary team and virtual team. We also discuss intercultural teams and how it affects the work place. Through this assignment I learned that I have worked on a cross-functional and virtual team. With the cross-functional team we have to come together and prepare a work document for a top customer.
INTRODUCTION The word ‘team’ can be defined as a group of people working together towards a common goal. A team also generally is known as a group of people with different skills and different tasks, who works together on a common project, services, or goal. Then, the important thing in teamwork is ‘collaboration’, which is the act of working effectively with others to achieve a common goal. Collaboration acts as the lifeblood in the team, even the team is not large enough, but the collaboration is required.
For example, we might have to run more in practices, in games the opponent may score, or a teammate could get hurt. Having the skill of communication, is the first step in teamwork. Being a group of individual players, a sense of unity has to be formed. A team needs to work together to achieve a common goal. A quote from
In addition, effective communication is one of the most important factors that can influence the result of team’s work. Whether there is a good result of group’s work
According to Dr. Banerjee (2015) students gives more ideas about the task assigned to them in collaborative learning process. Each student has a very important role in having a collaborative work. Learning is what students “do” and not what they “get” as passive receivers. The teachers are the facilitators of the students and not the “giver” of knowledge. Through this process the students learn not by being fed the information, but rather giving their own insights on a certain topic as well as the insight of others.
As the group also had people from different nationals, I understood different cultures and connected with them. In the beginning, none of us had worked together, each of us came from a different academic background, had expertise in diverse fields and individualistic approach to undertaking projects. Individual commitment to a group effort is what makes team work. At the same time it proves to be an additional bonus for us as we avoid mistakes at work. There existed the cultural and language differences among the team members.
