The Hunger Games Catching Fire
I selected the book “The Hunger Games Catching Fire” because I've never seen the movie so I wanted to see what it was like. Another reason I chose to read this book is because I wasn't able to watch the movie so I chose to read the book instead. Before selecting a book I knew it had to be on something that caught my attention. Afterwards I remembered that many people posted on social media that the hunger games was a great movie and I knew that if I read the book I could see how good it was. At the start of the book it explains how Katniss Everdeen

Peeta cooks great sweets and bakes many good things. Gale Hawthorne Has helped Katniss by making traps for her to hunt. He is Katniss’s best friend and every Sunday he visits her and they both eat breakfast together. Haymitch Abernathy taught Katniss and Peeta on how to survive and what they have to do in the hunger games. He is an alcoholic and puts all the other alcoholics to shame. Basically the main setting is the hunger games. The Hunger Games is the place where the whole district watches and it's where people have to kill each other in order to survive. It is very important because it is a thing that happens every once a year and is very important to the other people. The first conflict that Katniss got into was when President snow got mad with Katniss. This is because in the hunger games only one person is supposed to survive and Katniss did not want to kill Peeta and neither did Peeta. I never get bored of this book because the author never puts a boring part in this book. It is always nerve wracking and exciting in this Novel. I don't think I will stop reading this book until I'm

After both Katniss and Peeta win the Hunger Games, they return home and create a rebel party against the Capitol. Katniss and Peeta are drafted again into the 75th Hunger Games, and Katniss destroys the Hunger Games. In doing this, Peeta is captured by the Capitol and kept as a prisoner of war. In order to save Peeta and the Districts, Katniss unites the people against the Capitol. They form an army that passes through the security of the Capitol and saved Peeta.

The Hunger Games is a fairly popular and typical tale that includes a heroine, courage, and bravery. This story can be read or watched through many different lenses such as a Marxist lens, feminist lens, or even an archetypal lens. Through these lenses one can see as a reader or viewer that this is not just a story that fits into one category, but one that can fit into many. Using the Marxist and feminist lenses a viewer can gain a great depth of knowledge into The Hunger Games story itself.
There is a rebellion going on that the capitol has no idea about because during the games at the end of the book Katniss shoots an arrow at the force field that surrounds the arena where the tributes are fighting. Another major theme in this book is the theme of survival while keeping your feelings and . Katniss, represents this theme very well because she is going into a dangerous and risky game that the capital uses children to
First of all, the biggest theme is resistance, where ever you go in the story you will see someone resisting, it’s that huge because the protagonist is rebelling against the capitol in different ways throughout the entire book, by hunting, or straight out not listening to the Capitols orders. Another theme that you can discover easily is warfare. The people lives are on the line every year because of the mini-war called the Hunger games, a battle to a death with only one survivor. Lastly Loyalty, You can see at the end of the book, Peeta and his group did everything to keep Katniss alive, even if they needed to kill themselves to save
Although their relationship starts out as a lie, their feelings turn real as they bond over their hatred of the situation they are in. " The Hunger Games introduces the reality that children are not only capable of facing violence but also might be called to do so in their live[s]"(Skinner 2). Both Katniss and Peeta have never killed a human being before so they are under a great deal of stress to try to keep their humanity intact. That sentiment alone is enough for the two to share a deep
Theme # 1- No matter what tyrannical environment you live in, your identity can never be changed The Hunger Games focuses on the theme of identity and how it is immutable in any tyrannical environment. This tells the audience that no one can take away your identity and it can only be controlled by you. In the movie, 24 tributes are forced to enter a game where they kill each other in order to survive which led them to losing their identity and becoming pawns to entertain the people of the Capitol.
Peeta Mellark, one of the main characters in the book The Hunger Games, once said, “ My nightmares are usually about losing you. But I am okay once I realise your here.” The novelis about two teens from each district in the country Panem being selected to be in the Hunger Games, a reality TV show that requires them to fight to the death. Over the course of the novel, the two main characters, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, develop romantic feelings for each other.
The film follows a classic narrative arrangement delineated by Todorov. The movie begins with an equilibrium, the people of District 12 live in a miserable penury, which leads to Katniss looking after her family (adopting a patriarchal role, as it was mentioned before). Later on, there is a disequilibrium, Katniss volunteers to take part in the Hunger Games in order to save her sister’s life. And then a new equilibrium arises at the end, as Katniss wins the Hunger Games, consequently finishing an archetypal Hollywood three part story arc. Another narrative structure theory that can applied to the film is Propp’s study on narrative, in this case, the functions of characters.
On the other hand, there is Capitol who has political control in the nation of panem. The story starts when each district must offer a male and female between the ages of 12-18 at a public reaping as a penance for their uprising. The tributes which are male and female shall be delivered to the Capitol and then transferred to a public arena where they will fight with other district until a lone victor remains. This tradition called the hunger games. The story centers was coming from poor district 12 where Katniss and Peeta as their tributes.
Katniss learns how to be more selfless and not let coming from district 12 define who she is and what she can do. Katniss is a strong, force, and selfless charter who the readers can see a little bit of themselves in her as she develops through the story. The readers also strive to be a little bit more like Katniss everyday because she has the strength and willpower to complete any task that she puts her mind too. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is an amazing book for readers of all
This movie shows many examples of patterns of frequency, contrast, and also anomalies. One moment of intensity is when one of the girl’s that offers to help her gets murdered, which causes Katniss to lose a good friend and ally. This sparks an emotional breakdown for Katniss as she yells and cries at the death of this little girl that she had grown to know. Once she buries her, the girls family and friends back at her district spark a rebellion against the officers and government that run the place because of how they watched one of their own get murdered and at the kindness and trust that Katniss placed into this one girl. This is a very real moment, even though it is just a fictional movie.
