“We are trying to get a border wall to protect millions of low income Americans against folks who aren’t supposed to be here. So, it’s a national security.”~Mick Mulvaney. There are many controversial opinions about the wall that the government is willing to build. A border wall would be necessary for specific reasons, such as drug control. Debate.org believes that a border wall will prevent drugs. Factcheck.org believes that a border wall will stop illegal substances from coming into this country. Lastly, blvdcenters.org believes that a wall will keep the drugs out. Nevertheless, a border wall would be a good resolution because it would keep the illegal substances and their smugglers out of what the people of America call home. One reason is that a border wall would prevent drugs.

People believe this because they don’t realize that if a wall isn’t built, we all will be in risk of health issues. DEA’s Acting Administrator, Chuck Rosenberg said himself that it is extremely challenging and a great danger to Americans. So to conclude, a border wall would be necessary because of the health risks and dangerous acts people are making because they won’t just agree with the government’s choices.
To sum it up, there are different opinions and reasonings for the wall to be built or not. Illegal substance control is one of the many problems that the United States is having to deal with in this present time. Nevertheless, a border wall would be a good resolution because it would keep the illegal substances and their smugglers out of what the people of America call home. A decision has to be made for our country's sake. What move will you make
In Reece Jones article Why to Build a Border Wall?, originally published on November 8, 2012, in the North American Congress of Latin America, Jones explains the United States purpose of building a border wall. He states that these walls and fences are the results of the state internal politics and three specific reasons are made up to construct a border wall. These reasons are based on the state sovereignty, protection of wealth and cultural practices. Jones also establishes that barrier constructions legitimate and intensifies the internal practices of a sovereign state.
Building a border around yourself trying to shield yourself from illegal aliens who for the most part benefit the country and due their equal share should not be chastised and touted as that countrie's biggest problem. Rhetoric like that is very dangerous and adds to the division of a populace that should work together for the betterment of all, not just the few. As you all should know, I am writing about Donald Trump, the reason I chose to base my thread around him is because I feel his views are outlandish and incredibly self-serving. He is running for president because of his ego, and that ego will lead this country to a much far worse place than we perceive we are
One objective that CBP has in regards to border security, is to increase their situational awareness of the air, land, and maritime borders (CBP.gov 17). This means that the CBP is constantly making sure they stay on top of current threats and are ready to defend against any situation that they may encounter. A Second objective CBP has is to detect, interdict, and disrupt any type of illegal cross-border activities that may occur (CBP.gov). This is important when it comes to the security of the United States, because one of the illegal activities that could be occurring along the border is terrorist trying to get into the country. A good way to ensure that illegal cross-border activities do not take place, is by building and maintaining a superb relationship with all of the state, local, federal, tribal, and international partners
This scenario is what people hope will be reality if the wall is built all along the southern border. It will create a world where illegal immigrants will have a harder time coming into the United States and disturbing how many Americans live. This wall between the United States and Mexico has led to many arguments on either side. With the United States 2016 Presidential Campaign currently going on and Donald Trump saying that he wants to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, border walls are becoming a popular discussion
My view on immigration is that we should let asylum seekers in, but also we should reallocate money to help those struggling in our own country. We would keep the fence that we have now, to make the people who feel insecure about having an open border feel better. We would limit the amount of people coming in; however, that does not mean that it would be a permanent cap. Considering past laws that banned certain groups of people like the Chinese Exclusions Acts from 1882, 1888, and 1892, people had started to bring anti-American sentiment. If you also look at the arguments against the options of restricting immigration, it talks about how refusing to let asylum seekers in “will fuel anti-American sentiment throughout the world”.
Fences can only do so much; people are the ones who stop the illegal immigrants from coming in. Only 44% of the border is under watch. The other 56% of the border is slightly monitored. In order to keep the United States secure from illegal aliens, all of the border has to be under operational control. More troops from the national guard need to be called in and spread out across the border.
I believe that currently the United States has the technology to continue hardening their border, while keeping things such as the NAFTA imperative of top priority, and continuing to allow free trade to be worthy and
Although, a wall currently exists there has been speculation on whether the wall should be extended longer and higher in order to have a secure nation. The specific reasons why Politicians such as President Donald Trump are focusing
If our border was strong enough these immigrant children that are causing trouble would not be in our country. According to some coyotes ( Criminals who make their living off of smuggling people ) Said that “ the U.S border was easy to cross It brings in more business for them”. Our border petrols should be able to choose who can and who can 't cross the border. Clearly as you can see our borders are not strong enough. Causing Trouble
One of America’s most controversial issues today is the border between the United States and Mexico. The big part of the issue is due to illegal immigration, which is when foreigners enter the U.S. without an entry or an immigrant visa. President Trump says he has found a solution, otherwise known as the “border wall,” but this will not stop people from wanting a better life. Of course I get why he and others would want to continue the process obviously to keep us safe from terrorists and other dangers of the world, but, to every pro there is a con. Even though the fence along the U.S./Mexico border is already being built, it should not continue being built because it is expensive, hurts the environment, and immigration rates have significantly dropped.
Mexicans are daily crossing the border and intruding into our country. As Donald Trump has suggested, America can build a wall to keep these thieves out. However, we can’t do this as what would stop these aliens from breaking it down. Even if we make Mexico pay for the wall and even build it, the Mexicans can easily break it down and in the end will just become tedious work, making sure the wall is in good condition and telling Mexico to fix it.
The wall has been estimated to cost 70 billion, and 150 million a year to maintain. The wall is a definitely a stretch of a solution, since most crossings involve hiding somewhere in vehicles. Possibly instead of investing money into a large, multi-billion dollar wall, we should invest in some high-powered x-ray machines along the border. Then we would be able to detect human skeletons, and I’m positive it will be cheaper than a wall. But when it comes to legal immigrants, there should be no kind of ban on them.
The general idea or claim of this argumentative piece is that building a wall in order for the immigrants not to get through has a lot of flaws and won't work as the Congress think it would.
Have you ever thought that this country, the United States of America is secured? Sorry to burst your bubble, but it never was, due to illegal immigrants coming from another country without a valid pass. Illegal Immigrant should not be allowed in the United States. There are many reasons why Illegal Immigrants should not be allowed, firstly Illegal Immigrants take jobs from Americans and Legal Immigrants. The next reason is because Illegal Immigrants cause more crimes to be committed.
The challenge of Trump’s border wall is not technical, but logistical. The leap between “building a wall” and “building a 2,000-mile-long continuous border wall in the desert” is about equal to the space between “killing a guy” and “fighting a lasting land war.” This wall would contain over three times the amount of concrete used to build the Hoover Dam — a project that, unlike Trump’s wall, has economic benefits. This wall will take about 21 billion dollars. Instead of using this money for the wall we could feed 7,291,204,190 (about 7 billion) homeless people.
