A BRAIN TUMOR BY ANY OTHER Abstract Introduction: The case of a 63 year old male that complained of a severe headache throughout a 6 week period turned out to be worse than what he imagined. Being victim of two other diseases that are life threatening , the patient was shocked to learn that his severe headache was a symptom of a meningeal tumor. Case Presentation: A 63 year old male is presented with a severe headache in the frontal region of his skull that has been consistent for 6 weeks despite the use of analgestics. The CT revealed no signs of a stroke or a bleed but a 4x6 mass was located in the right frontoparietal area of the brain. Meningioma is a tumor that arises from the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, the meninges Conclusion: A 63 year old male complained of a severe headache that had been present for 6 weeks. He was described as unbalanced and having personality changes by a loved one. When asked to remember certain events, the patient seemed to be experiencing memory loss. A request of a CT scan revealed a mass of tissue in the frontoparietal region of the patient’s skull. Meningioma is a tumor that arises from the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, the meninges. Although most meningiomas are benign and cause no harm to the victim, some can be cancerous and extremely dangerous. Its symptoms are headaches that worsen with time, memory loss, and weakness in the arms or legs – all symptoms that the patient exhibited. His personality change can be explained by the tumor in the brain affecting his neurons.
