In Brave New World there is a lot of talk and experimentation in making a world that is constantly happy. From conditioning babies to be a certain way to cloning people to believe only in what they are told to believe in and nothing else. To be happy with no thoughts of one’s own opinions and to believe in one man as if he is someone special. My opinions on many of the different points listed in the Brave New World are against what is written in this book. Although it would be a perfect world if everyone was always happy and got along it is just a well-known fact that life will never be that way. There are way too many judgmental people out there. There are so many reasons starting from jobs, family, life, money, and society. Even if …show more content…
In a perfect world you would know your place in the world. But today we have the choice to change our future. We have the choice to work hard to make more money or be able to do the things we love in life. We have the choice to be submissive when it comes to what we want and when we want it. We have a choice and that is what makes our world great. We have freedom of expression and the power to choose. A question to ask yourself is would you really even be living if you could not make decisions for yourself? By heartbeat yes but by soul and spirit you would not. You would be lacking what makes you human to begin with. You would be working in a job they said you had to do. Compared to now in which you always have people who work where they want, make more money, people that have more friends, people that can do what they want when they want, etc. There is always someone else who is wishing they have what you have, can do what you do and can be who you are. Nobody is ever going to be happy just being themselves. Even if they want to be themselves and not like others they are still waiting for something that probably will not happen because they feel it is out of their control but they are still given a
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Have you ever read the world famous classic (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer)? If the answer is no then I hope to persuade you to do so. As you probably already know (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer) was written by Mark Twain the famous british author. Mark Twain was not his real name, but only his pen name, Twain was born Samuel Langhorne Clemens!
In an article written by Dr. Jemshed A. Khan, he claims that Roger Chillingworth poisoned Rev. Arthur Dimmesdale with a drug called atropine in The Scarlet Letter, a novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Surely, Chillingworth was “a man of skill in all Christian modes of physical science”(Hawthorne 67) and knowledgeable with medicinal herbs and roots that grew in the forest(Hawthorne 67). Knowing that then he would know how to kill Dimmesdale even though it would be slow and painful. Even though Dr. Khan’s article is in some way persuasive and supported well with different evidence, it isn’t examined further in depth. In The Scarlet Letter there is much support to prove the idea that Dimmesdale was not killed by atropine.

The citizens of the modern world are blessed with something that throughout world history has been denied to most of of the populous: agency, or freedom of choice. They can choose the religion of their preference or none at all. They can choose their own careers. They can have their own political beliefs. Agency is a right that a very slim percentage of those that have walked this Earth have enjoyed.
Pandora is Blameless Throughout society and religion, there is a pattern of men bringing down women to elevate themselves. Within Greek Mythology, there are many heroes and villains while the myth of Pandora portrays Pandora as a villain to all humanity. In this myth, it tells us of gifts that were given to Pandora from the gods and goddesses by Pandora opening the jar/box causing all the ills of humanity, she is meant to be seen as the one to blame for everything wrong with the world. Pandora did open the jar/box, but she shouldn’t be blamed for it, they made Pandora the scapegoat “a person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place”.
In the book Brave New World, there are connections that can be drawn between the book and our current day society. Neil Postman has come to the conclusion that Brave New World has a closer connection to today's society than the book 1984 by George Orwell. After a little bit of thinking I would have to completely agree that he is right. Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World is much more similar to the world that we live in, in 2017.
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.

The Freshman 15 is a thought that crosses the minds of most future college students, but most say that it won’t happen to them. This fear of losing a toned body after graduating high school bothers some more than others. They realize after high school there are no longer athletics, and they’ll no longer be exercising regularly. Also, when they depart from their parents house and begin to live on their own their eating habits change.
These last several decades there have been severe debates between fantasy enthusiasts about which hero deserves ultimate reverence. Before the very late 1990s and 2000s arrived, Frodo Baggins, from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings would have been an easy nomination for the category, but not anymore. In 1998, when Rowling first published Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Frodo finally met a worthy adversary in Harry Potter. As Harry Potter became more and more prevalent, for the first time fantasy experts were incapable of generating an obvious winner for a battle between the two. Because of that throughout the last several years there have been a lot of debates between fantasy fanatics about which is better, in a battle to decide
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.
When a person hears the name Steven Spielberg, they immediately think of the blockbuster movies, Jaws, Extra terrestrial Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones etc. However, Spielberg has directed other important films, many of which were selected to be saved by the national film registry like Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan, for their extreme accuracy in the portrayal of important moments and people in history. However, there is still a debate whether Spielberg should be considered the best director of all time. The answer to this question is obvious , he definitely is the best as he has directed blockbusters as well historical films where his use of the camera, his choice of actors, music and his attention to detail make him the best director
The book, Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley introduces a theoretical world where life is simple and content. The new world is made up of human beings that are conditioned for predestined roles in what is called the World State. The World State uses a cloning process to create clones that are conditioned to perform identical tasks at identical machines. This process is one of the tools used to implement the World State’s motto: “Community, Identity, Stability.” This motto and world tend to resemble worlds of utopia, where everything is perfect and there are no highs and lows in life.
Survival seems key to only wild animals that live out in the open but sometimes humans face a scenario where they need to survive too. There are many stories people have been told about survival but how do people endure this and what characteristics are needed to survive? The best characteristics are believing in your survival, Positive Mental Attitude, and using the resources you have and is proven by the literary texts from Night by Elie Wiesel, Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales, and a memoir from An Ordinary Man by Paul Rusesabagina. In Night, Elie is able to survive through his confident attitude that he shows by the friends he is around and the emotions he shows in tough situations.
We can build a beautiful city, yes we can, yes we can. This was just one of the many songs I sang during my time as a camper, service worker, counselor in training, and counselor at Camp Saint Andrew. This camp was the foundation of friendships and memories, it helped young children to take that first step into the long venture of discovering who they were. This is one of the very few places that one encounters in life that is so inexplicably magical and that is the very reason it should not have been closed two months ago. Camp Saint Andrew should remain open because summer camps promote the psychological well-being of children.
