“With over 3 million women battling breast cancer today, everywhere you turn there is a mother, daughter, sister, or friend who has been affected by breast cancer” (Johnson). This quote brings light to the devastation brought upon one another from a dreadful disease called cancer. This article describes the scientific studies behind the role that antibiotics play in causing cancer. This opposing viewpoint article, Antibiotics May Be Linked to Breast Cancer, stands as a purpose to inform readers about the theory of antibiotics being directly related to breast cancer diagnosis. “Breast cancer is the second most leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States” (National Cancer Institute). Therefore, trying to find a root of where this cancer is coming from is a quite logical explanation for the extensive research and hard work shown by this author. The logos appeal is brought into context when the author uses factual evidence to commence the theory being presented throughout the article. With the factual evidence presented, the reader is educationally brought up to date in order to fully understand the purpose of the subject being discussed. After being informed about why this speculation is important, the author goes into a thorough discussion on the negative effects antibiotics can cause on one’s body. Some of these effects are as little as sweating or becoming itchy, and some can go as far as a diagnosis of breast cancer.
