#longpost #breastfeedingjourney #1yearmilestone I joined this group very very late , but I just wanna share my experience with you all. It was a C-section and I couldn 't get up from my bed due to intense pain (am super pain sensitive) none of the nurses even attempted to train us to start our breastfeeding journey.. when I asked that my son is not feeding they checked his sugar levels and they were happy with that. as a mom I felt wrong and when my mom tried to make my son latch he was resisting and didn 't cooperate well.
Breastfeeding in Public Breastfeeding has been around forever now, but it’s now not being accepted to be done in public. Women will hear comments like,” could you please cover up,” or ,“ do you really have to do that infront of me?” Women should not have to be judged for something that is natural and healthy. Now, women are starting to fight back towards these comments and won’t stand for what people have to say about them feeding their child. Women should not have to suffer through the harassment of people saying how it’s inappropriate because it is healthy, natural, and legal.
Breast feeding is also one of the healthiest choices a mother can make for her and her baby. Although there are many positives to breast feeding, it is also a major controversy. If a woman has to be afraid to feed her child, then what’s to come in the near future? Life can be very beautiful when having a baby. We get to pass on to another generation.
The dehumanization that Sethe experienced took away her most desired identity: being a mother. Sethe experienced dehumanization when “those boys came in there and took milk”. Her milk, the substance that would sustain her child’s life, was the one thing that truly belonged to her, but the white boys took it from her, hence diminishing her worth as a woman, a mother, and a human being. Breast milk is the life force for an infant and having this integral human connection taken away from her diminished her self worth. This emotionally scarred Sethe, as she talks more about her milk being taken than the actual scars on her back (19).
This will help make breastfeeding in public easier and less stressful for myself and my baby. The research explains how mothers must worry about what people around them think about their choices to breastfeed in public and figure out how to successfully breastfeed their babies without being a disturbance to others. I believe that everyone can have their own opinion, but when a mother is feeding her baby in public and they want to verbally attack that mother, something needs to be done about it. I also believe that nursing mothers, if they choose to breastfeed in public, should do so with respect to those around her. Rather than just exposing herself while feeding the baby, she could instead use a nursing cover.
Supplying a baby with breast milk is the most natural thing in the world. Ideological discussions are therefore out of place. However, there are good medical and personal reasons for not nursing your child. How do I feed my child during the first months of my life? For thousands of years in all cultures, there was no question that every woman breast-feeds her own child, yet nowadays the feeding of babies has developed in to two different directions, moms who breastfeed and others who bottle feed.
For instance, all hospitals should have knowledgeable and trained staff to assist mothers in breastfeeding. Although, many hospitals provide mothers with formula samples, hospitals should have breastfeeding friendly policies which regulate the promotion of infant formula. Because many mothers may not have a breast pumps, hospitals should have an inventory of breast pumps and breastfeeding supplies available for new mothers to use. In addition, more hospitals should implement policies which restrict the promotion and advertisement of infant formula and provide prenatal women with breastfeeding classes. Offering free breastfeeding education classes to prenatal women is another policy that should be
A number of health organizations recommend breastfeeding is ideal nourishment for babies owing to its protection from infections, allergies and some chronic conditions. Nonetheless, breastfeeding may not be possible for all women because of their comfort level, lifestyle and some specific medical conditions. For situations that the mothers are unable to breastfeed or who decide not to, infant formula is a healthy alternative. Formula provides indispensable nutrients for babies to meet their daily requirement. There are several advantages that are sometimes overlooked bought by the formula feeding as followings.
