From the fresh salmon to the soft bun on the burger, everyone loves some type of food. The residents of my community are lucky to have two very different types of delicious cuisines. Many locals would consider The Brick House and Surreal Grill to be the best in the town. Although they both serve delicious food, the differences in the menu, the service, and the atmosphere set them far apart from one another. The Brick House offers the type of food one person eat while watching a football game, drinking a cold beer, while Surreal Grill offers elegant dishes meant for special occasions. The two different types of meals I get at these restaurants are completely different. For example, at Surreal Grill I get a glazed bourbon salmon with steamed …show more content…
The manner at which one is served varies completely. When dining at The Brick House customers are greeted by a young girl with shorts and a Brick House t-shirt. She walks the customers to the table and proceeds to tell them your waiters name and that they will be right with you. The waiter approaches the table as if they were friends. They say “Hey. How are y’all this evening?” this is what to be expected at the Brick House. On the other hand, at Surreal Grill customers walk in expecting to walk in to a person greeting each customer with black pants and a white collar. Consumers are expecting to here “sir” and “ma’am” and to be treated with kindness and …show more content…
The Brick House takes me back to a Friday night football game. Banners hanging supporting different teams, TV’s on the wall to watch the games playing. Once a month they have a local band come play. The loud music blaring and the TV’s flashing with sports. On the other hand, Surreal Grill is quite and calming. The white tablecloths on each table, with pictures of oceans and trees on the wall. Everybody in the restaurant feels obligated to speak softly and quietly. Music plays in the background, loud enough to hear a calming classical song but, not loud enough to sing along. No matter what day you enter Surreal Grill you are expected to enter a calm peaceful
Robb 's 125th Street Grill serves home style meals in a warm and charming exposed-brick atmosphere. The manila steamed clams with focaccia bread and the grilled chicken quesadilla wth gooey cheese make for fantastic starters. Juicy burger options include the bacon and melted cream cheese laden Avocado Burger and the Old West Burger with barbecue sauce and golden fried onion rings. Comforting entrees, like the Roast Turkey Dinner with cornbread stuffing and the Meatloaf Plate with mashed potatoes are what Robb 's 125th Street Grill is all about.
Bradbury sets a tone that is supernatural. It isn’t normal for a house to be functioning on it’s own, having rooms, “acrawl with small cleaning animals, all rubber and metal” (Bradbury). This house is running like their is a family living their
Jeannette’s family never had enough money to buy themselves a decent house, so they lived out of rugged shacks, old abandoned buildings, and even out in the desert without any form of shelter. The author would describe each new house that her family moved into in such a way that it would persuade the reader to have such strong feelings of hatred towards Jeannette’s mother and father. Neither Mr. Walls, nor Mrs. Walls could keep a job for any decent amount of time, so after living in a house for a little, the family would get behind on the payments and have to pack their things and move on to a new place. The most memorable example of these terrible houses is the house that the family bought in Welch West Virginia. On page 153, “We called the kitchen the loose-juice room, because on the rare occasion that we had paid the electricity bill and had power, we’d get a wicked electric shock if we touched any damp or metallic surface in the room.”
Their employees are required to do multiple things within the business that put them above other fast food chains including, “Using “my pleasure” instead of you’re welcome, greet customers with an umbrella when it’s raining, fresh flowers on tables, ‘table touches’ to check in mid-meal, carrying customers trays to their table, calling customer by first name not by number, genuine empathy when expectations are not met” (Beard, Ross). The restaurant also is one of the top on wait time, on average 3 minutes putting their average wait time above that of McDonalds and Burger
Before you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by a revolving door, which gives you the impression that Founding Farmers is a fancy restaurant. When you continue to walk in, you are surrounded by people waiting to be seated. There is also
The ability to use pathos and cause the customers to feel welcomed helps with the Bakery’s intended audience because people are more likely to return to Jeannie Bird if it makes them feel accepted. It also helps with the real audience, who will be attracted to the positive atmosphere created by the bright colors and encouraging pictures that are on the
Fitzgerald uses Gatsby’s mansion to represent the diversity and the opposition between Gatsby’s outside appeal and his contrasting inner dissatisfaction. The physical enormity of the mansion alongside the material treasures held within it portrays a sense of fulfillment to all of gatsby's guests and friends. However when the parties end and all the people leave, “a sudden emptiness [seems] to flow from the windows and the great doors, endowing [in] complete isolation the figure of [Gatsby]” (Fitzgerald, 60). The picture of one man inside of this mansion of a thousand rooms highlights the loneliness and isolation that Gatsby is surrounded by. Due to his prominent isolation Gatsby is unable to form close bonds and relationships with the people around him, which leads to his intense and lurking emotional emptiness.
In the case of Jacob Lawrence, his personal style brought the African-American experience to life using contrasts between dark and vivid colors. Nonetheless, two examples of some of his most known paintings include “ The Builders, The Family” and “This is a Family Living in Harlem”. While both paintings are similar in that they both show strong family unity in the African Culture, they are different in the setting where each of the paintings are taking place. Strong family unity is present in, “ The Builders, The Family”, as it shows a nice, well dressed family walking together on their way to either church or their household.

In Brett Anderson’s review of the upscale New Orleans restaurant, Brennan’s, he explains his opinion of what it takes to be one of the top 10 restaurants in the city. Since the recent renovations Brennan’s has undergone, Anderson believes that it has saved itself from going out of business. He clearly states that he loved the restaurant by calling it “an exuberant, sprawling pleasure palace that is dead serious about its culinary mission.” His reasoning for stating this was that he believed the food was good as he explained how the head chef “restored the historic restaurant’s reputation for culinary excellence.” Another reason he loved the restaurant was for the atmosphere to which he noted at the beginning of the reviewing saying it was because of the
In this example, Mirabelli illustrates the effect an unskilled and unknowledgeable waiter has. Harvey was a new waiter and was unaware of what a pesto sauce was. This resulted in him not being able to provide the customer with a valid response. This example is able to negate the criticism and prove that waiters do need skill in order to do their job
It was a flat building,” are all his interpretations which are describing what exists in his life is very simple (the grid-like shape of the flats) and serves very little interest. But as the story progressives, details about the life of many of Jeffrey’s neighbors are revealed and show how they are being hidden by the apparent straightforward design and layout of the apartment complex. All in all, the setting is meticulously set which requires a little elaboration and thinking to reveal it’s true purpose - to mask significant and perhaps even dangerous parts of people's
In the front of the restaurant the kitchen takes place. In the right corner there is a salad bar to make your own salad. On the left side there is a playground for children that’s why no much noise. To
These types of restaurants offer a variety of international cuisine. Gentrification replaces them with chain stores and restaurants, and the culture is then lost as well. It is inhumane to force people out of their homes because they can't afford it and it is unfair to put a stop to traditions and remove community
It is open during lunch and dinner hours. Inside, there are many tables that sit around the restaurant and are covered in white tablecloth and has flowers placed in a clear vase. The walls are bright coloured that create a vibrant mood as people enjoy their meals with an almost inaudible music.
