Even though Although the story has a great plot some people might not appreciate the inhuman writing style of author Richard Cornell in this particular short story, but readers with higher compression will understand the real message behind the words of the author which is the feeling that animals feel when being bunted by man., The story about the island is a contradiction since general Zarrof is man of contradictions even though Zaroff presents himself as a knowledgeable civilized man he also presents him self as a barbaric overseer of the more dangerous game.
