The book Bud Not Buddy was written in the great Depression but why wasn't it written in today's time? In the story mom wouldn't have died if they had better doctors. If the boy Bud was on the street in today's time someone would have took him in. If the book was written as a girl not a boy more people have helped. We have medication that would have helped Bud's mom. If Buds mom would have stayed home she could have still had a doctor there. Bud's mom wouldn't have died like she did in chapter one. She would have had a great doctor to help her. Bud wouldn't have had to beg for food. People would have just fed him their selves. People would have helped him find Herman. Just like lefty Louis did. Bud would have had a bunch of medication
Herman cared for him and his band, the Dusky Devastators. He becomes a part of the band and the book ends. —------------------ Bud not buddy isn't just enjoyable, but educational. It talks about the Great Depression, racism, and more issues. During the book, Bud faces racism as he travels.
Bud not Buddy is a historical fiction book about a boy who lived in Flint, Michigan and his mother died 6 years ago, and she left signs of who his father was the signs she left bud keeps in his suitcase. Buds mother signs were that his father was Herman E. Calloway, he was a famous musician.he had no mom or father that left him to be an Orphan. Since he was an orphan he went to a foster home. The home he was in was horrible he was with the amos's Mrs and Mr amos had a son named Toddy, he abused Bud and told lies to get Bud in trouble. Mr. and mrs.
He is trying to find his dad but he is in Grand Rapids and he is in Flint . Bud, Not Buddy would be a different book if there was modern technology because Bud would have been found when he ran away, his mom would have lived, and Bud would have better transportation to Grand rapids.
In chapter 1, Buds mother died, so Bud had to find food and shelter for himself. Also, Bud would have been able to live in a happy home and not hopping from one foster home to another. For example, Bud was on the lamb looking for Herman E Calloway, and he had to find food and shelter for himself. In the end if Buds mother wouldn't have died, Bud would have been able to find out that Herman E Calloway was his grandfather and not his father.
These were tough times during the Great Depression, especially for Bud Caldwell, but things are getting better. Bud, Not Buddy would be a different book if it took place in a different town because Bud wouldn't have been the protagonist of the story, Herman E. Calloway and the band would not have been in the story, and the story might have been in a white person's perspective. For one thing, the story would be very different if Bud weren't the protagonist of the story. In Chapter 13, Bud explains to Herman E. Calloway, what he did to get to him, and the struggles he faced along the way. If Bud were not the protagonist of the story he never would have been able to tell his story to Herman.
In addition, the story Bud, Not Buddy would be different if Hermon was his dad because everybody would have been nicer and Bud wouldn't have been so mad. In chapter 18, Bud yelled at Hermon and said Angela, his mother's name. Although, if Bud wouldn't have been so mad, the other people would have been calmer when it happened. Also, if Hermon wasn't mean to Bud, then Bud wouldn't have been mad. In conclusion, if everybody would have been nicer, and Bud wouldn't have been so mad, the story Bud, Not Buddy would have been
Just from reading this much, the parenting style in this book is ridiculous and the kids made the right choices as they got older to be successful. RoseMary
Bud ,Not Buddy Book Report The Great Depression, started in 1929, one of the most horrible times in human history. Factories closing down, businesses and banks gone, and people losing jobs left and right. It was a bad time in America where most people depended on charities just to survive each passing day. Many stories were made describing what was it like at that time.
Only if the book was changed. If it was the modern Ara. Then his mom wouldn’t have died because there will be hospitals, and clinics. She would've been alive to help Bud threw the great depression.
The story takes back in the day during the American great depression and people struggles to live in America. The two main characters in the story are George who is the sharp eyed hard worker and Lennie who is handicapped and has bad control of himself. Lennie doesn’t go along with many people except his partner George. Crooks who works at the same place and his black, which makes thing cheesy for him. Crooks likes reading books alone and he likes to keep his distance from others, which is his way of keeping things calm and not messy.
It shows even in the dark times of the Great Depression they still find hope in their American dream and one another. In the novella the vision of George and Lennie is to make
Also, whenever Herman got mad at Bud the band always tried to hear Bud out. Again, in chapter 13 Herman said, "Now you look here..." And Jimmy said, "Hold on, Herman." Jimmy also said that because he felt like Bud was family. Also, the band fed him, gave him clothes and other things.
The Great Depression was a time of little hope and small dreams. Much of what happened forced young children out of their world out of their world into the adult world. I’ve also had to step up into the vast realm of the adult world. During the Great Depression many kids had to step up and begin acting like adults.
Throughout the course of history the Great Depression affected the United States in their economy , it lasted 10 years it was the worst economic downturn in the history of the industrialized world. Lennie and George had numerous of risks in the ranches, they didn't have no one who would help them if they were sick or anything else. The author show us the good relationship of Lennie and George how they care of each other. This shows that George is a good friend but maybe this is not his decision to take care of him he feels sorry for him, I also seen in this text that Lennie receives benefits of George friendship because he is being responsible for him he takes care of him, even though he is a trouble maker George is there for Lennie.
What if the world was still the same as it was back during the great depression. What if this was the truth. In To Kill a Mockingbird readers can see how prejudice affected people of color back then, and how it’s not so different from today. In the novel readers will find unfairness in court, hate crimes, and segregation. Today readers can still find these same issues, but in different forms.
