The presence Buddy had on stage colossal, considering the fact that he must have been at least 6’8 in height. Surprisingly, for such a gigantic man, Buddy moved comfortably and meticulously to resemble the character. Also Buddy tap danced with fluency and ease, being the in the spotlight in all of the tap dancing scenes. The humor in the way Buddy carried himself throughout the play, was due to Buddy not knowing how massive he really was. The reason for Buddy not being acquainted to his accurate size, is by result of him being raised by elf’s in the North Pole. Since Buddy was human child that had only met elf’s and Santa, naturally he would believe he is the size of an elf. During the play, Buddy was especially good at portraying actions that
With in the concepts of Socialization Buddy great example of does society make us human. Buddy having been raised by elves in the films is accustomed to elfish society. He shows his normal as being eating maple syrup with spaghetti, worshipping Santa and enjoying elf games of snowball and even using elf curse words, indicating the difference in language such as son of a nutcracker and cotton headed ninny muggins. The agents of socialization play a large role in his life his elf family “Papa elf” encouraging him to participate in elvish things despite him being human and eventually reaching human size. Buddy’s peer groups consist of normally inanimate objects and talking narwhals, which although normal in the North pole is not a part of human society.
Wow, the modern era is so much different than the 1930s! Bud is the main character in the book Bud Not Buddy. Bud is a kid who was born in the Great Depression. Bud lost his mother and never met his father. Bud had a very difficult life but made it through.

He was born that way and he could not control it. He was born in the Home of Infants and stayed there until he was five years old. While staying there, he got locked in the cellar more often because of his height. The Teachers also told him that he was born with a curse. This
In 1991, a history changing discovery was made. A man was found completely frozen in ice. This wasn’t just anyone; this was a 5000-year-old mummified person. As it turns out, he is the first cold case murder. Based on injuries, researchers claim that he was murdered by another person and died where he was found.
In doing this he thought Christmas would not come and all of the Whos would be upset. This, however, is disproved by the singing in Christmas spirit that the Whos performed. Perplexing the Grinch, “he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore… “Maybe Christmas… doesn’t come from a store… perhaps… (Christmas) means a little bit more!””(39). This revelation alters the Grinch’s perception of Christmas vastly. By allowing himself to make an effort to understand Christmas he embraced the Who culture.
Rex did not teach his kids about Christmas. None of the kids ever got the chance to believe in Santa claus. Walls tells a first hand story saying that “I never believed in Santa Claus. None of us kids did. Mom and Dad refused to let us”(39).

Synopsis: The movie that will be used for this film review is the movie directed by Jon Favreau, Elf (2003). This is a Christmas film which follows a man who was raised by elves to 30 years of age with no human contact who then finds himself traveling to the city of New York in hopes to find his long-lost father. The human elf, Buddy, was accidentally sent to the North Pole as a baby upon crawling into Santa’s Christmas sack while he was delivering presents to the orphanage one year where Buddy once lived. This, in turn, resulted in him being taken to the North Pole where he was then raised amongst Santa and his helpers from an infant.
Today I will be telling you the story of why the Grinch hates Christmas. The Grinch’s house as a child was very boring and plain. Even at Christmas it only had a bare tree with no lights or ornaments. They didn’t have any other ornaments inside or out. At Christmas, the Grinch and all of his siblings never got toys.
Jon Spoelestra’s Ice to the Eskimos was very interesting and informative. Throughout the entire book, Spoelestra reflected upon the experiences and knowledge that he gained from working in the sports industry. One interesting aspect of the book was Spoelestra’s principle that organizations should design “an offer that consumers cannot refuse” (Spoelestra, 1997, p. 199). This was particularly interesting to me because of my interest in finance. Initially, I thought that if you make an offer too good, that you could potentially be losing out on some profit, however, after reading this book, this principle makes perfect sense.
The book I choice to read was, “Brian’s Winter”, by Gary Paulsen. This book is about Brian after the private plane he was flying in crashes in to the rugged forests of Canada. Brian went through many struggles while trying the best he could to survive in the harsh environment. Some of the biggest events in this story include when he is attacked by a bear, during the major storms and some of his questionable encounters with the wolves. If I were telling a friend about the entire story in two minutes I would say, Brian’s parents were divorced leading him to visit his father for the first time in a long time.
When the Ghost of Christmas Past visits him, he is worried and very confused. Ebenezer Scrooge thinks that the entire thing is a joke. “There’s more gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are.” His actions illustrate how simple his life was, by catching him completely off guard, and showing that all of his joy is gone. He becomes terribly frightened by reliving his past.
The Spirit takes Scrooge to Bob Cratchit’s house, where they meet Tiny Tim, Bob’s son. Tiny Tim is a cripple who has a big, loving heart. The Ghost tells Scrooge that, in the future, Tiny Tim will die. Scrooge then replies, “ ‘Oh, no, kind Spirit. Say that he will be spared’ ”
He even has leg extensions for when he’s riding his horse so as to be seen as taller than he truly is. Shrek, a movie that appeals to adults and children, takes these social norms and throws them out the window. Even though we see these social norms, the movie shows us that looks can be very deceiving. Princess Fiona tries to be all prim and proper when see first meets Shrek but Shrek doesn’t play along.
