Workplace bully is a form of harassment at workplace that has severe impact on company profits and well-being of employees and their performance. Workplace bullying has been regarded as a significant and complex issue that presents a challenge for organizations to manage. Workplace bully can be explained as an important source of social stress at work. The situation of bullying is when someone disturbing with a serious negative action and behavior that are annoying and oppressing and the victims cannot defend themselves. Workplace bullying is repeated, health-harming mistreatment of one or more persons (the targets) by one or more offenders. It is abusive conduct that is threatening, humiliating or intimidating or work interference and sabotage which prevents work from getting done or verbal abuse (Georgakopoulos, Wilkin, & Kent, 2011). Workplace bullying involves an abuse or misuse of authority. The bullying acts will creates the negative feeling and undermines an individual’s right to dignity work.
There are many examples of bullying such as the person did not want to listen to the victim, ignore the victims especially when the victim need help in work, slander at the back of the victim, and laughter to the victim. Many of the victims are too scared to report the bullies and some act of bullying are actually not fully realized by the recipients. Bullying may take place under the disguise of performance management and reinforcing managerial control (Mistry & Latoo, 2009).
