Suicide is not selfish, what is selfish is that we expect people to go through this pain and hurt everyday, the pain we put them through. The truth is a smile can hide so much pain. We all tend to act like everything is fine, when in reality we are slowly falling apart. Depression can be side effect from bullying, suicide is a common side effect of depression. When cancer takes a life we blame cancer, but when depression takes a life we blame the victim. Depression is a disease, do not blame the victim for losing the fight. According to the Yale school of Medicine, studies from 13 countries found signs of an apparent connection between bullying, being bullied and suicide. 2 million children have been harassed, threatened or subjected to forms of bullying over the past year, 1 million commit suicide each year. A mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. Mental illnesses cause people to have changes in behavior and emotions, that they cannot control . Suffering from depression alongside other diagnoses increases the likelihood of suicide. Many people say that it is easy to make yourself happy, so they say to people with a diagnoses “I don’t know what to say.”, “It’ll all be ok.”, “We all have bumps in the road.”. People feel unloved, they feel as if they have no one they can open up to because we think no one listens or wants to hear what we have to say because, well they might think of us as different, but what everyone needs to realize is that there is always someone who is there to listen and help you, there is always going to be someone willing to help sometimes you just have to go out of your way to get help for the person or help
I grew up in Korea, listening to television news where it talked about students committing suicide after suffering from bullying. By psychologically thinking, I thought I would be able to empathize with the victims by analyzing the article. Even though this was a fairly short article, it told me a lot about our society. Bullying is not necessarily a “current event,” but it is a rampant event that still might be happening at the moment I am writing this. Somewhere in the world, a person may be suffering from depression, while we are not even cognizant of the fact of
Hi, fellow moms! We received a letter from a single mom of a teenage boy. She doesn’t know what to do because her son has been showing signs of depression. He doesn’t want to go to school nor go out with his friends. He even threatened to take his own life.
In The Program there is a worldwide epidemic of teen suicide. Sloane’s brother and best friend killing themselves, her brother and other best friend getting admitted to The Program has Sloane’s parents thinking that these events will lead her into thoughts of suicide. That made Sloane’s mom decided to put her into The Program. In The Program there are pills that take the “bad” memories away. Hayden Porter, a 15-year-old freshman at a high school in Ohio, took his life”(https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/16/health/ohio-suicide-cluster/index.html). This is very selfish because killing oneself is so wrong and so heartbreaking for everyone that loves him/her. In his defence, he killed himself probably from bullying from other people, hence proving another reason why people are bad at heart, but that should not give anyone the right to take your their and only life away from themself. In another example, in the Diary of Anne Frank, Mr Van Daan was stealing some of the bread from the

Is Suicide Selfish? In Harry Browne’s article “The Unselfishness Trap,” he talks about putting other’s joy over your own and whether that is considered egotistical or not. This led me to consider the question: would suicide be considered selfish? I believe that suicide would be selfish because there is so much pain that it would bring to the family, friends, and community.
Taking in to account the identified general types of suicide by Emile Durkheim, and looking at the definition for egoistic suicide where there is inadequate integration into the society, it seems to be a strong reason for committing suicide for the
This seems to happen during early to mid-teen years. Bullying can be in the form of physical abuse, emotional abuse, or through online dialogue, otherwise known as cyberbullying. Bullying is also linked to a high number of suicides, but not as high for self-harming. That may be the case however, it does still happen and it is still too high. The British Medical Journal published a study, done by researchers and psychologists, to test the link between bullying and self-injuring.
Bullying and self harm go hand and Hans what do you think happens after self harm when it gets to be too much. Another reason why self harming and suicide aren't related is because just because you won't the pain to end doesn't and you won't you life to
