I. Introduction
Cyberbullying, which happens mostly on the Internet, is becoming a topical question in many country’s education. It is defined as violent behavior that is intentionally and repeatedly implemented against a person and is characterised by power disproportion between the bully and victim. (Dooley, Pyżalski & Cross, 2009; Patchin & Hinduja, 2006) Although it has been hard to define cyber bullying more clearly due to a large number of utilized methods and questions involving the levels to which respects such as reiteration and power inequality play a role, a comprehensible explanation is that cyberbullying regards hostile, deliberate acts taken by an individual or group, making use of technological form of communication directly to someone who finds it difficult to protect themselves. According to the article, Rituals Sault, by Elizabeth Svoboda, the author argues that cyberbullies use the social media platform to target, terrorize, and harm others. To add, she provides the reader with information on why the cyberbullies attack others and how to stop them. In the article, Irituals Sauls, Elizabeth Svoboda’s essential focus is that cyberbullying has become a significant issue within the teenage community. Svoboda explains what cyberbullying is, why and how it is an issue, situations in which cyber bullying led to other issues, how cyber bullying created a new social pattern, methods on how to fix and prevent the issue from becoming more than what it already is.
Bullying is a major issue facing today’s youth. Over the course of the past few years bullying has become such a concern that many states have adopted laws against it. However, the issue evolves as time goes on and now cyber bullying exists. Cyber bullies can insult others over the internet with no need to be nearby the person they are insulting.
In today’s world electronics are very prominent, making “abuse” (Kids Health) very easy as there are “[n]o longer limits” (Kids Health) to cyberbullying. McClatchy writes for a national newspaper in Minnesota and is currently drawing attention to cyber bullying. She explores new methods to combat this new type of bullying, which is derived from the internet. This article provides examples on several solutions that have been employed by different states to resolve the issue. Many state governments have come up with new laws requiring schools to construct policies to counter cyber bullying. The article also quotes a professor from John Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public health; he states that the increased usage and reliance on the Internet and smartphones will have a big impact towards cyber bullying.

This is the first century and technology has never been better. It has become so advanced that it has opened up opportunities for jobs, learning, and bullying. It is now easier than ever to bully someone all hours of the day, and to make the bullying follow them wherever they go. Cyberbullying never used to be much of a problem, in fact it didn’t use to exist. But now with all the new technology, and all the freedom online cyber bullying happens everyday.

Technology is getting bigger and bigger each day. With the advance of smart phones, tablets, and laptops it’s become much easier for people to keep in contact with their social media. People can easily stay in touch with friends all the time on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram and by texting. Many people are taking advantage of that opportunity and that seems like people are becoming more sociable but actually it is making people less sociable. People are spending too much time on their phones instead of having a face to face conversation.
As reported by the SAVE a (Suicide Awareness Voices for Education) suicide among teenager’s age 15-24 years’ olds is the top third cause of death for youth. Question is, why aren’t we doing enough about cyberbullying? Why aren’t there serious punishments implemented to those who are old enough to know what damage they can be causing someone? Almost 50 percent of teenagers have been harassed online some time recently. That is in 2 people.

Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.

Imagine an unpopular student, getting bullied and picked on at school. Going home after a long day feels like a blessing for that child. However, upon turning on their phone, they realize it has been bombarded with cruel messages and images. The constant messages are having a harmful effect on the student’s well-being, and they are trapped in a never-ending loop of bullying. Some argue cyberbullying is not a ‘real’ problem, however, cyberbullying is a significant issue that needs to be prevented because it commonly affects youth, it leads to physical injuries, and it causes psychological harm.
They can use any methods which may cause terrible damage for the sufferers’ mind, just to diminish the social status of whom they are bullying. In general, the goal to be achieved is raising and spreading their own power and dishonoring the others. Lastly, the motivation of online bullying is to ease the boredom. It may not surprising that the minority of perpetrators see this cruelty as the source of entertainment and others are too cowed to protest.
Bullying is defined as repeated oppression, physical or psychological of a less powerful individual by a more powerful individual, people or group. It consists of three main types of abuse which are physical, verbal and emotional. Bullying in schools is a common and worldwide spread problem that can have critical and negative implications on the general school climate as well as on the right of students to study in a safe and secure environment without fear. Many people believe that bullying is part of life, happens in all schools and so it’s not an issue to worry about and that it lets individuals know what life is all about as it toughens them but in reality bullying is a detrimental problem that affects most school going children and teenagers physically, emotionally and socially.
