According to the news article, Andrew Bill Nelson brought a 16 foot Burmese Python snakeskin to a meeting to prove how much of a threat these pythons are. In response to his threat, Florida has arranged a team of hunters and an anonymous reward to the hunter who can catch and kill the most.
Clearly, the Burmese Pythons are drawing hunters to the everglades. According to Andrew Ng in his 2013 article, the state's fish and wildlife commision is sponsoring its first ever python challenge. ” This means that the extra hunters could appreciate the overpopulated snake problem as well as living in tourist. This is important because, these snakes are dangerous, so the novice hunters could get hurt or be unable to catch snakes. Andrew Ng goes on to say that “ prizes will be awarded in two divisions, one for novices and the other for those who already

With no natural
They are very undetectable snakes and spend most of the day under rocks or sometimes underground.
The Burmese python has caused a decrease in the local animal population. The Burmese python has also caused a change in the little ecosystem the Everglades has. The view of people about the Everglades has also changed. To begin with, the Burmese infestation has caused a decline in the animal population in the Everglades. According to the article, “Florida Python
The Burmese python snakes are also putting many people in danger. To help this cause the people are doing a python hunt to help kill the snakes. There are many ways the pythons are affecting the everglades. First of all, a Burmese python is not the kind of pet to have. They are one of the most dangerous animals.
This python has a lot of effects on this ecosystem. Burmese pythons are from Asia. These snakes in the United States were used as pets. These snakes are a invasive species. These snakes got into the wild because they escaped when storms crashed trucks and they escaped.
This means they're very big and capable of eating many things. After Hurricane Andrew huge amounts of Burmese Pythons escaped to the Everglades after the hurricane ruined an exotic pet dealers warehouse and freed tons of pythons. According to Source 4, it says, "Hurricane Andrew didn't help matters. An exotic pet dealers warehouse that housed nearly 900 Burmese Pythons was destroyed, and many of its' pythons escaped". Now there are tons of Burmese Pythons in the Florida Everglades and it has raised many problems.
A Burmese python can swallow prey that is a flabbergasting five times wide as its head! It can even grow to a dumbfounding 23 feet long! Burmese pythons are changing the Everglades. There are changes to both the local animals and to the people because of the presence of these pythons in the Everglades. Who would have thought that Burmese pythons had such big effects?
Burmese Pythons are a species of snakes that originate from Southeast Asia. They are an invasive species, and invade in places such as the Florida Everglades. Many people had them as pets, but when they became too big for homeowners they decided to set them free into the Everglades. As snakes can eat many large and small animals, they have enough to food to survive. But as they are not native to the Florida Everglades they then have no natural predators, so they reproduce, and each egg has about 10 snakes in them, so you can see why that may be a problem.
If the “Burms” try for bigger game that bobcats (people) then we have a bigger problem on our hands. At an estimate of ten thousand Burmese Pythons live in the Florida Everglades. Therefore, Burmese Pythons are affecting the Florida Everglades by overpopulating and destroying the ecosystem. Burmese Pythons are taking over the Florida Everglades, so the state’s fish and wildlife commission is holding its first ever Python challenge. The over population of Burmese pythons in the Florida Everglades is like the population of deer in Georgia.
I will be going over both ways that are being done now and ways that we can save these creatures. First of all, the Florida fish and wildlife commission has set up zones where strict rules are being forced. The biggest one are the zones that the manatees can stay where no boats or swimmers cannot go. This provides
cold spell of January 2010, all of those pythons died (2010). All of this evidence leads scientists to believe that the Burmese Python invasion will stay in Southern Florida and not become a problem for the rest of the southern United States. Burmese Pythons are very elusive snakes and despite their large size, can be very difficult to find. In this study, tracking dogs will be used to find the snakes and their handlers will remove them once found. Dogs are known for their strong sense of smell and many are bred to hunt animals.
Burmese pythons are a serious problem in the Florida Everglades. These dangerous snakes are constantly influencing the Everglades very negatively. The Burmese pythons are impacting local animals by eating large amounts and possibly leading them to extinction.
Laura A. Ogden’s Swamplife, is an ethnographic work that examines the culture of Southern Florida and the people there called “Gladesmen”. An ethnographic work means, it examines the aspects of a place and informs of a different culture. The gladesmen are a culture of people whose ancestors settled in Southern Florida and survived and thrived off the flora and fauna in the Everglades. Ogden indicates in the first chapter that she wants know the gladesmen’s history and experience in order to understand how they are “marginalized, illegal and largely forgotten”. This is the point of her book, to look for understanding and to show that a place largely thought of as complete wilderness, is actually thriving with human activity, not just a superorganism devoid of human life.
But if there was a snake we 'd hunt it and kill it. We 're going to hunt pigs to get meat for everybody. And we 'll look for the snake too-- " said Jack. He’s promising to kill something that does not exist so that he can calm the other
When we visit the zoo, we all thought monkeys and lions are cute animals, taking pictures with them and trying to get their attention. But when you live next to one, you no longer feel the same. Even if they are cubs or infants, you still see them as threats. I am sure some of you are facing the same problem, but that’s not your fault. Right now, Alabama is one of the few states yet to establish a law which requires an owner to obtain a license to possess big cats, monkeys, bears or other exotic animals.
