Through out the history of the United States, a number of incidents and disasters have occurred to influence safety and protection. In the aftermath of these events, valuable lessons are learned and steps are taken to ensure nothing like that happens again. One such incident is the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, one of the most influential and horrifying incidents in United States history. The fact that both the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) and National Safety Council (NSC) trace their history back to this incident speaks to that. Sadly, the tragic events that unfolded during the Triangle fire were not surprising.

Sarty from Barn Burning Barn Burning is a short tale by William Faulkner, which discuss 10 year old boy, Sarty Snopes’ dilemma over assigning priority between his family and social justice, truth and righteousness. However, in the story, Sarty’s father, Abner Snope is used to burn the barn and notorious as an incendiary but, Sarty’s views on justice are far different than his father, and it appears that Sarty, however having younger age, possesses deep and upright stances than his father’s peculiar justice view. The entire story based on the son’s dilemma over following his authoritative father’s immoral actions and sticks to family welfare programs or goes for the self-sacrificing and moral attitude, he inherits from her mother.

There is a debate about using prescribed fires. Prescribed fires are fires that help reduce the catastrophic damage that wildfire creates. prescribed fires work most of the time, but they can be faulty at some points. That's why some people don't agree with using prescribed fires. Even though they sometimes don't work, they can be really helpful when they do work.

The literature and researches dedicated to juvenile firesetting prior to the 1980's are sparse; it has received little attention both in the academic literature and in the media. Stadolnik (2000) mentioned that the total number of pieces of credible research sources on juvenile firesetting behavior is less than three hundreds while the number of research papers on other behavior disorders numbers in thousands. Furthermore, Slavkin (2000) remarked that, despite the costs and impact of juvenile firesetting, it remains a little studied area of research. In the following review of literature about juvenile firesetting, prominent and influential researches have been discussed.
To Build a Fire is a short story written by novelist Jack London in 1902. The story is about a man and his dog’s frozen journey on the Yukon Trail to camp in the Coast Mountains, Alaska. At the beginning of the story we get some characterization for the main character as he excuses a breathing break by taking a time check on his watch. This already tells the audience that the main character is a little bit of an egotistical douchebag. When he starts off again, he realizes it's cold, like really cold.
Wildfires are more dangerous then just a flame and heat. Fires have destroyed millions of acres over the pass few years, hundreds of people have put sweat and tears into fighting for their own lives and others lives. The worst thing about these fires are that they can destroy places that the heat does not get to, the smoke is what hurts the area the most. Smoke can travel hundreds of miles from the first point of the fire and end up hurting millions of people.
Detection Of Fire Accelerants Fires can be set in a number of ways. Setting a fire does not require the use of an accelerant, but it frequently exists in arson and accidents as well. Its important to note, flammable liquids and accelerants are also not always one and the same and can vary in type. The vapor from accelerants such as a flammable liquid supports the flame over the material, which can be either easy or very difficult to detect. The accelerant can leave visible physical traces, or the trace of the chemical property is left behind.

Within the first few paragraphs of the reading on cultural sociology, I found myself wondering what exactly the story about the “Burning Man” had to do with cultural sociology. Although I wasn’t quite sure where the story was going to go, I still found myself intrigued by the entire experience of the event that the author Wray was sharing. Eventually, I was able to understand the significance of Wray sharing this experience. This particular experience was an excellent example of what cultural sociologists do in their research and the ways in which they go about conducting research. Even though I wasn’t aware at the time, I also found myself wondering and questioning what it would be like to be able to witness first hand the event unfolding and taking place.
