BUSINESS PROCESS MODELLING TECHNIQUES
INTRODUCTION
Every business consists of various activities going on simultaneously for different processes. Thus to streamline the flow of activities it is important to map those processes. This is where Business process modelling (BPM) comes into play. BPM is a technique which helps an organization to diagrammatically represent the flow of activities and events involved in a process along with the details of the activity/action owners. It is a cross-functional modelling technique which represents the workflow of more than one department of an organization. It sometimes even include the activities and processes of external organizations.
The basic purpose of Business process modelling techniques is to

The most common type of it that are used are Colored Petri nets (CPN), they have a set of modules containing a network of place, and the symbols are differentiated with colors, thus making it very easy to understand the interaction of one process to another.
For most these techniques can be a bit complex for their needs, thus a simple alternative is used, known as Flowcharts, it just supports a sequential action flow by using a small set of standard symbols. It is its simplicity and powerful nature that makes it so popular among users.
Data Flow diagrams, represents the flow of data in a process. It shows the linkages of the process through the data stores and hot they relate to the user and their environment. They are mostly used in design documentation and are useful in organizing the raw data.
It shows how information enters and leaves the process; what activities change the information; where information is stored within the process, and the organizational function to which the activity

In change management it is very important to communicate as to what the change is all about and who is responsible for that change or who are the action owners. That is why business process modelling plays an important role in change management as every process improvement initiative involves some kind of change. Also, to introduce a new process in a system it is very important to map the system flow from start to end so that it is easier to implement the process and also to make people understand what the new process is all about and how things will be
What is a process control block, and what is it used for? A process block control is a data structure containing information about an active process. PCB is used for storing the collected information about the processes and allows the OS to locate key information about a process such as the name, state of the process, resources that are allocated to the process, scheduling information, process ID, and input/output devices that are used by the process. 7.
A function has three sections the input, relationship and output. e.g. input is a number = 4 relationship is a condition = *2 Output is the value= 8 /*these three steps shows a function.*/ There are numerous types of functions and every type has its own particular diagram.

Indeed, current change models having certain limitation on implementing changes and current models only helpful when the change known and outcomes are expected. But change is an inevitable process we cont suspect when will new problems arises and all technology related changes need an alternative model for implementing change. So, in this paper I am going to explain process of
The change can be dynamic and effective. This change process must be viewed as an investment for the company. Lewin’s change Model is important ;because each employee must be ready to learn new things as well as unlearning old practices. Motivation is the most important part and difficult at times for changes to take effect. Employees are responsible for the company success.
When addressing business functions and processes, it is important to
Hence, the quality of communication is a critical aspect of successful change (Hayes, 2007). One form of effective communication strategy that PAT should adopt is “Underscore and Explore” which involves two-ways communication. This strategy allows managers to focus on the core issues related to the change. Employees are also given the opportunity to raise their concerns and feedbacks (Campitt, Dekoch and Cashman, 2000). Feedbacks in the form of surveys can be collected from the employees to improve in the change processes (Ford and Ford, 2010; Young and Post,
Communication lines are of the utmost importance in the complexity theory. Communication is the vessel for change management and the lifeline of any organisational change initiative. Finally, the project manager must prepare for change within a project and must retain a level of connection with contacts and leads. Change is the only constant in life and every project leader must learn to deal with the rapidly changing and demanding world
Change management should be carried out in conjunction with other management activities. Leveraging Change Leadership (vision for change), change management (enables people pursue a common goal) and project management (structure for change) would potentially create the highest value to the
As mentioned earlier, communication and information provision help reduce employee’s resistance to change and hence create an organizational culture that values change. According to Gill (2002), communication is the ‘blood’ of organizations and ‘oxygen’ of change implementation. Poor communication between leaders and the individual staff, on the other hand, could impede change programs (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2001, cited in Burnes, 2003). Frahm and Brown (2005) identify three communication channels, namely strategic information provision by top management, operational information provision by direct supervisors and conversations between peers (cited in Peus et al., 2009). During strategic information provision, top executives explain why changes are necessary and define their expectations from these changes projects, whereas during operational information provision, direct supervisors clarify roles and responsibilities during change processes and new requirements, if any, after the change and answer questions.
