I’m a Christian 17 year old teenager that wants to be someone big, and shine God’s light in this world. To begin, the summer of 2016 I attend to my very first camp. With that said I have an amazing youth leader who I love so much and supports me in everything she encouraged me to assist to the camp “OVERCOME.” Turns out to be a total blast, I was 15 at the time, it was from my church. The weather, the place everything was wonderful, waking up to worship The Lord, it was when I believed when they say that we live for Lord, because I was giving everything, every second of my day to him. One morning at camp, I ask “myself,” “Why can’t everyday of my life be like this just being in the presence of the Lord?” the presence of the lord is my favorite place. At California Baptist University I hope to gain this experience every day. Moreover, I always get so amazed by what God is capable of doing. I hope to become what God wants me to become, to gain what he has …show more content…
Moreover, CBU offers many programs and opportunities, I totally want to experience as a student at CBU.. I want to pursue my career, I want to study Kinesiology, my second choice is going into the nursing program. Consequently, I hope to gain a variety of friends of different cultures, I would love to see what they have to give. Not only with the students, but with my professors have valuable experiences with them. With that said, I hope for my faith to increase, I know that CBU being a private, small environment will benefit me to obtain what I want, it’s a 100% christian staff I hope to gain that experience. Lastly, I would really want to graduate from California Baptist University and not only say to myself, “I did it!” But tell my parents and make them so proud. Thus, that will be my biggest accomplishment, but totally not my last
This program taught me more about ministry than another program I had ever seen or experienced. In the Beeson Institute, I grew in ways I had no idea I could grow. I had the opportunity to sit and learn about "Building a Dream Team," "Growing a church in a small group concept," and "How to balance your life. " The third significant event was studying under Scott Fay, and learning from the John Maxwell Team. (JMT)
Imagine being the daughter of a pastor, who has to live up to her family 's expectations, how would you feel? While being an example in church, yet living in another city attending a four year university in her graduating year, this leader is as strong as they come. Leah Shoff is a 22 year old who has put her entire life effort forth for God. Even though she has attempted to live part of her life without God, she was never successful in doing so. Constantly under a lot of stress, Ms. Shoff is currently attending Vanguard University as a Senior with a major in business, and she still keeps in great contact with her family; especially her family who is runs Palmdale Lighthouse Assembly of God.
As a low-income, first-generation Mexican American/college graduate, my personal identities and experiences uniquely position me to contribute to RFU’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts (DEI). Through my journey, I have encountered various challenges and triumphs that have shaped my perspective and deepened my commitment to promoting DEI in healthcare and beyond. My lived experience growing up in an economically disadvantaged and medically underserved community has heightened my awareness of the healthcare disparities and inequities that exist, especially being raised in a traditional Hispanic household. It has fueled my passion to address these issues and advocate for accessible, culturally sensitive, and equitable healthcare.
In seventh grade I plan to work even harder and achieve honor roll. My other greatest accomplishment was when I was playing my favorite sport, volleyball. Whenever my team and I would play tournaments, we would always win at least one of our games. These are all the unique and amazing things so far in my incredible
I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
On the surface, the University of Florida prevails as one of the top ten public universities in the United States and one of the best colleges in the world. However, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Aside from UF's impressive titles, the University offers outstanding opportunities that suit my academic goals and living situation. On the surface, the University of Florida prevails as one of the top ten public universities in the United States and one of the best colleges in the world.
I am interested in Howard University because it is an HBCU that encompass the themes of cultural diversity and education. Your commitment to scholars ensures me that at your school I will be right at home. Since I intend on on going down a medical path, I know that Howard University will provide me with best resources to follow my dreams. As a child I was always interested in the worlds around me and how things worked. As a result I participated in a Summer Enrichment Program located at Indiana University in Bloomington.
The countless opportunities available at Brown University for me to learn in a flexible academic environment is exactly what I desire and need. Brown’s programs not only let me dive deep into the concentrations that I am most passionate about, but also let me explore outside of my interests, exposing myself to a variety of environments and experiences, especially with the open curriculum. Besides focusing on biology, I aspire to explore varieties of fields, including Korean culture. As a Korean individual, I want to learn about the culture not only in the familial setting, but also in a classroom setting, comparing the two perspectives. In today’s world, it is important to maintain not only a grasp on my cultural identity, but also to keep
Throughout my life, there have been moments of self-pride in my accomplishments; however, I can honestly say that my proudest achievement was when I was awarded the Daniel Award in my church for being the teenager with the most relentless service. I was proud of this achievement because serving in the church, especially the Kingdom Ambassadors Christian Center (KACC) Children’s department, was not an easy task. This award was the very first of its kind and I was speechless upon receiving it. Nevertheless, during my service, I occasionally felt like giving up due to the stress the job entailed, but I remained diligent and patient to the end.
As a well-known research universityxx:”?, at Brown I would have the opportunity to perfect my research skills and conduct studies with devoted professors. The recent Brown alumni, who are current leaders in the biology field exemplify the strength of the life science department at Brown, the extensive internship network, and the power of a Brown education. Like all Brown students, my enthusiasm would not end in the classroom, but rather lead me to engage with Brown community, through clubs, including service, science, and leadership groups. I am eager to participate in Brown traditions, including the midnight organ recital on Halloween and help to keep the Brown spirit alive. Brown University will support my educational goal to attend graduate
One of the youth leaders says how he shows the youth to live a responsible and righteous life around God which shows us how we adapt to current needs by understanding each other’s positions in how we live in today’s world. We are meant to worship God not individually or silently but rather as a group. We have to be as involved as possible in understanding the rites and prayers that they part in. I observed this when everyone in the service was voluntarily singing along with each other as a community. The choir was singing in harmony with the lead singer and the rest of the community and they offered themselves to God to take their faithfulness and acceptance of
I spent my time supervising and aiding the campers in their different activities, which consisted of crafts, music, Bible study, snacks, and games. It was this week of volunteering that I experienced God in new ways and grew closer to Him through the campers I worked with. During my time there, I was quite hesitant and anxious. I did not know
Engineering is an essential tool that helps society act as a whole for the purpose of improving the lives of every individual in the most innovative way. To touch the lives of every individual as I could with the career goal that I’m pursuing would be my ultimate goal. As an individual, pursuing Engineering, University Of Texas at San Antonio would be a great assistance for me to attain the necessary knowledge in order to increase my understanding and mastery of the essential subjects necessary to be an Engineer. UTSA provides vast opportunities for individuals like me to expand our abilities and further develop our skills.
Students are given a checklist of strategies and suggested items to mention in their essays that are supposedly aimed to set them apart from other students. Writing essays for admissions into college, or a specific program, is one of the most important parts of our lives; this could essentially “make-or-break” our entire application, so we heavily rely on the suggestions and influence of what everyone else believes is the “right way” of completing the essay. This realization has led me to choose Oscar Wilde’s quote “... Nothing that is worth knowing can be taught,” because students are taught the perceived “right way” of living, but knowledge acquired through the systematic instruction of a whole cannot possibly lead each individual towards
In the fall of 1997 I became a Young Life volunteer leader and almost instantly I knew ‘I was made for this mission!’ Ironically, a few years later I came on staff with Young Life and our organization started using the tag line “You were made for this”. Since then, I have never felt more in sync with an organization than I do with Fuller. The ideals, background and family the seminary has created appeal to the person God has created me to be. I feel well prepared to begin the Master’s in Theology degree this Winter and I could not be more excited!
