We can see that in this experiment the accuracy is quite high as the results support the same theory as previous experiments that have undergone similar methods and tested this question. However, there were quite a few weaknesses within this experiment that resulted in low precision as well as low reliability.
We can see through the uncertainty calculations that there were high uncertainties with each result and the highest of the uncertainties from the total uncertainties came from the uncertainty of the wavelength of the light used within this experiment, as there was a high uncertainty value when using the light. However, we can see that the standard deviation is also very high as there is quite a large range for the results for each increment of the independent variable. The standard deviation value is also higher than the value for the total uncertainty for the equipment used in this experiment, signaling

This is a random error in the method as it could cause results to shift both up and down.
The carbon dioxide concentration would also fluctuate as not enough of the baking powder was added to the solution so the carbon dioxide concentration in the water would become a limiting factor, causing the plants that were photosynthesis very quickly to use up all of the available carbon dioxide dissolved in the water and thus slowing down the rate of photosynthesis later on in the experiment. This is a systematic error as it would shift the results down as there are less bubbles produced when there is a lack of carbon dioxide available to the
The weekly average was not precise due to the values on Tuesday and Thursday being so much higher proportionally compared to Monday and Wednesday (Graph 1 ). Specific heat was also a value which varied based on the accuracy of the execution of the experiment. Different days lead to different amounts of precision and this was due to the random errors. Random errors were mistakes caused by the experimenter. Tuesday had the lowest standard deviation for all the metals (Table 1).
Introduction The purpose of this Lab was to identify the density of the unidentified object and determine what substance the unidentified object given by the teacher was. The density calculated in the experiment will stay the same because the density of the unidentified object will stay constant. The Independent Variable of this experiment was the calculated density and the unidentified object given. The Dependant Variable for this experiment was the density.
This could be due to differences or error in experiment procedure. Personally I think our group were extremely careful with the experiment and have made a worthy theory of the coherent properties of differing
Because carbon dioxide is absorbed by the plant during photosynthesis less carbon dioxide present in the chamber is a sign that photosynthesis is working. The four lights used for this experiment range across the light spectrum on both sides in order to test a wider variety of wavelengths. All lights will be placed directly on the spinach leaf at the same distance so as not to give any spinach leaf a different light intensity, which could affect the data. This experiment will be able to show which light, ranging across the light spectrum, will allow the Spinach to perform photosynthesis more efficiently.
Once hydrogen and the baking soda ions bump into each other, they form carbonic acid (H2CO3). Carbonic acid decays to form carbon dioxide and water. The formation of the carbon dioxide causes the fizzing action seen in the experiment. It is shown in the equation: H+ (aq) + HCO3 - (aq)
While CO2 is produced, the amount of CO2 produced is different depending on the organisms, in this case crayfish. To test the changes in pH, NaOH is used to neutralize the carbonic acid produced by the crayfish, by which the
5. My hypothesis on the outcomes of each key essential that were being examined in both of my procedures was if the waters temperature gets warmer than before, more carbon dioxide will be created during the time of the reaction, correlated to the temperatures that are slightly lower. My other hypothesis on the outcomes of each key essential that were being examined in both of my procedures was the quicker the Alka-Seltzer tablets disintegrate; the amount of time being wasted for the carbon dioxide getting discharged decreases because this could cause some kind of alteration over the time of the
5.1.1. Standard Process First part Coming from the field the data was downloaded from the two GPS bases into the GPS controllers. Connect the GPS controllers to the computer and open the Trimble Business Center to import data from GPS receivers. Second Part Set the coordinate system in the software as to match the coordinate system which was used on the field.
The most important result from this experiment is that it suggested that the increase of Carbon Dioxide, will drastically increase the growth mountain maple in the covered (from the sun) parts in a forest, in the meantime any increase in the temperature of the soil will nullify the increase of light, as we know is to be the main ingredient for photosynthesis. 5. The authors do not use any citations in the
Oxygen was being consumed and carbon dioxide was being released because the water level in test tube “G” continued to
Then the balloon is lifted up so that the baking soda runs into bottle to react with the vinegar inside. Immediately the balloon is inflated by the carbon dioxide formed. The baking soda is kept constant when the experiment is repeated for another different amount of vinegar. Results/Findings When sodium bicarbonate and vinegar mix,
However, any doubts regarding the results may be traced to a few elements of the experiment that lend themselves to possible error. The following factors may have contributed to potential errors in the experiment; the need to zero the machine between each of the readings in obtaining the absorption spectrum and the resulting peak wavelength, the precision with which a person can accurately adjust the needle on the spectrophotometer to zero is limited, not putting in the inaccurate amount of cobalt chloride or water into the substance, and getting oil from our fingers onto the
For example, in the response experiment, a yeast solution was prepared without sugar mistakenly and thus had to be prepared again. This suggests that other errors in preparation and measurement could have been encountered. For the future, careful measurements using clean uncontaminated flasks would eliminate possibilities of such error. A source of error for the metabolism experiment involves the yeast’s yellow hue. It is possible that the color of the yeast caused the solution to look more
Introduction Strong acids and strong acids both dissociate completely in water forming ions. However, strong acids donate a proton to form H3O+ along with a conjugate base and strong bases accept a proton to form OH- along with a conjugate acid. The chemical behavior of acids and bases are opposite. When they are together, their ions cancel out and form a neutral solution. In this experiment, HCl and NaOH will react to form NaOH and H2O with these two steps: The overall reaction is: Both Na+ and Cl- ions combine to form NaCl.
