A 20-year-old Caitlin Nelson died on Sunday, only three days after choking on pancake during the pancake-eating contest at the Sacred Heart University. The event took place on Thursday evening on the university’s Fairfield campus that was part of its annual Greek Week. About 100 people attended the competition and witnesses say that Nelson had eaten several pancakes when she started to choke and fell to the ground.
Nursing student was the first to notice Nelson in distress
The nursing student realized that Nelson is choking and immediately told others to call 911. When police officers arrived, Caitlin was not breathing. “We, fortunately, had some officers doing traffic enforcement (nearby),” told Fairfield Police Chief Gary McNamara to the Connecticut Post. Paramedics were able to clear the throat blockage in the ambulance on the way to St. Vincent’s Medical Center but it was too late because the lack of

Caitlin Nelson was the vice president of her sorority and studied to be a social worker. Her friends will remember Caitlin as a good and caring friend, and professors as one of the kindest and most devoted students they have taught. Her sorority wrote on social media: "heaven has gained an incredibly selfless and beautiful angel today." Thousands of students, staff, and faculty also paid tribute to Caitlin Nelson at a Mass service Sunday night. The speculation of her family's plans to donate her organs, makes her contribution and legacy even more

For the past two years, thirty-year-old Freya Larson had lived vicariously through, of all people, herself. Knowing the death of her fiance, Rookie Officer Ian Larson, had prompted dynamic changes in the prosecution of repeat drug offenders in Barrington city did nothing to lessen the impact of his devastating loss. On the early evening of July 4, 2014, while pursuing an armed suspect into a condemned property at the corner of Pace and Singleton Streets, Ian and his partner, Calvin Woods, were ambushed in what was later verified to be a targeted gang shooting. Sustaining multiple wounds, Calvin 's injuries turned out to be non-life threatening, but Ian was hit in the side of the neck by a .38 caliber bullet, resulting in his death.
As a nurse herself she tried to help him, but she saw a wound shot in the back of his head and he was
Per our conversation via telephone earlier today and on behalf of Colleen McManus, this email is to seek approval of our intention to provide a conditional pay stipend to the ADC Inspector General, Greg Lauchner. As you are aware, the Governor’s office appointed the ADC Deputy Director, Jeff Hood, as the Interim Director of ADJC. To cover the roll of ADC Deputy Director during his absence, Greg Lauchner has assumed the duties of that position. Director Ryan desires to compensate Mr. Lauchner with a $1,000 stipend per month during the time period he performs these duties. Request approval.
Fighting over a color of a house seem a little silly. But that is the conflict Sandra Cisneros is facing due to her purple house in San Antonio. The author lives in the King William historical district. Before making any changes to their houses residents must get approval by Historic and Design Review Commission. The problem is that HDRC did not approve of her color choice.

It was a typical Friday morning—and let’s not kid ourselves, most teachers enjoy Fridays. But this day would be different for first-grade teacher Vicki Soto. When a gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary, killing twenty-six people, Vicki threw herself in front of her students, while many of her other pupils had already been hidden in a nearby bathroom. And while we mourn the deaths of those women and children who perished, we can see true heroism in what Vicki Soto and others showed on that tragic day.
She choose to be part of the bigger picture, and now gives motivational speeches. Paradigm
But, this was a short-lived victory for the Nurse family. Ironically, “immediately after the verdict was announced, the afflicted girls went into violent spasms… [and in] seeing all this commotion, the…judges concluded that the jury had made a mistake” (Nardo 66). The public outrage was enough to bring Nurse to a new verdict: guilty. Things had suddenly went from terrible to hopeful to even worse in a matter of minutes.
Likewise, I was never aware of the tremendous amount of happiness and sense of togetherness that comes with seeing the faces of students enjoying our sponsored events and other organizations hearing about our efforts on campus. Being the president of SHAC has truly been a blessing to me and has opened my eyes to my true potential as a leader. I no longer shy away from speaking in front of large groups, question whether or not to share my opinions on topics and believe that there is only one way to successfully accomplish a goal. Although I would love to say that SHAC has helped Brady Health and students here on campus, I know that it is being in SHAC that has truly helped me. I have developed into a person that I would not have recognized during my early days as a college student if it has not been for this leadership role.

Introduction On October 19th 1992 witnesses believed they saw twenty three year old Laura Houghteling leave her Bethesda home, not knowing in fact that it was Hadden Clark, a part time gardner who worked for the Houghteling family. What would follow this sighting, and the subsequent missing persons report of Laura Houghteling would be a fascinating murder investigation which would lead to a precedent setting conviction and the capture of a serial killer. This report will investigate the method of Mitochondrial DNA analysis through the DNA typing method of RFLP or Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism. The report will explore the mechanisms of the technique itself along with the benefits and limitations of the technique. This case is
