California State Railroad Museum Report

The completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad was an important event in the United States history. There were many challenges in building it, but after it was finished, it connected the East Coast of the United States to the West Coast.

At the Morris Museum of art is home to a wide-ranging and permanent collection of works of art dating from the early eighteenth century to the present. It also presents special exhibits of a rich variety of art celebrating the culture of the South. I took several photos of my favorite paintings and sucplters. My daughter and I had a lot of fun we went on a free tour and learned a lot about the paitning at the museum and even played a scavenger hunt game.

The Transcontinental Railroad and the Interstate Highway System were not only the two biggest contributions in the history of transportation in the United States but are tremendously similar to each other in how they were built. Both systems were built in times of extremely desperate need of a way of transportation across the country which made them such big advantages to American society. The two systems have been majorly significant tools in the history the United States as well as modern day life.

The appearance of the railroad in the early 19th century created a revolution in the transportation for the development of the economy and the society. This invention, eventually, also brought a lot of outcomes as well as disadvantages for the people living near the routes and the stations.

The Transcontinental Railway was a huge undertaking for the still young country, and took many men to complete, and reshaped the country as we know it. This will examine how the Transcontinental Railway was built, who built it and the problems that were encountered during the build. It will also look at how the railroad impacted the country economically. And last it will tell how it helped settle the western frontier, and how those people lived.

I am doing the State Capitol of California. The California State Capitol is where the government's office is and all the other representatives work. It is located in Downtown Sacramento. It was built with neoclassical style with many features found on ancient Greek and Roman buildings. The Monterey Capital was the State Capitol of California from 1848-1849. The main architect that made the state capitol is M. Frederic Butler. It is important to California’s history because it home to the government of California.

In 1864 Congress approved the Northern Pacific Railway to be built. The NPR is the first transcontinental railroad in the northern part of the country. It is 8,316 miles long, beginning in Minnesota and ending in Washington state, with many branches going off the main line. When congress approved it they also supplied nearly 40million acres of land grants to build the railroad on. Construction didn 't go underway until 1870, and the rail road was finally christened to open on Sept. 8 1888.

After its 1869 debut, the Central Pacific’s Altamont Pass route provided the shortest all-land connection from Sacramento to the Bay Area. It remained, nonetheless, a long detour compared with a direct-line route between the two points. From the start, the Central Pacific’s principals recognized its faults and sought alternatives.

When one hears the word “Oklahoma”, what do they think about? One usually does not prefer this state over others, but it is still an interesting and wonderful state. In this paper, I will inform you of the information I believe is important to know about the state of Oklahoma. You may not be interested in learning about Oklahoma, thinking it is not an important state, but in reality, it is very interesting and it is a great addition to our country. The Central Pacific Railroad connected the states from east to west coast and provided efficient transportation for the United States. The Central Pacific Railroad is a rail route between California and Utah. It was built from the east coast in the 19th century; this railroad is the first transcontinental railroad of North America. Theodore Judah Was the first engineer who conceived and decided to build it and the Central Pacific Railroad. In 1862, the plan got financial backing from the Pacific Railway Act. Passing by the old caboose and station that sit on the side of the train tracks it’s easy to assume it’s historic. But what makes it historic? The first Transcontinental Railroad was a 1,907 mile contiguous railroad line constructed between 1863 and 1869. It linked the country together in more ways than people could have ever imagined. Trains offer an efficient way to move goods over long distances. It impacted many things including the economy, the environment, and the Native Americans. After this invention the people will never know a world without machine transportation.

Trains originated in Britain, invented by a man named George Stephenson. Engines and tracks were originally purchased from England, up until the civil war. At first, there were skeptics about trains, people who worried about their businesses, and people who believed trains to be sacrilegious. Eventually, the economic advantages of trains silenced the critics, and entered America into a new state of development. Trains were vital for the development of the industrial revolution, as they allowed for the quick movement of large quantities of goods for a cheaper price, and made it an overall much more efficient process. Trains were not only an industrial advancement, but also an improvement to transport of people. Trains were much faster, much more comfortable, and much safer than travel by wagon. Lastly, trains forwarded westward expansion, as manifest destiny would cause railways to be built out west, bringing people with them.
