Can religions be used to advance an agenda? The answer lies within the Genesis, the beginning of religion. Religions were primarily used to unify people, and create moral and ethical boundaries within society. Religion has been used from time to time as a tool for people to use to advance a negative agenda. So to answer the question in just one sentence: yes, religions can be, and are of late being used to advance bad and negative agendas in modern-day society, such that include corruption, conquest, as well as terrorism. Religion can be used to advance an agenda of terrorism, an idea that contradicts one of the primary agendas of most religions: peace and unity. By doing so and exploiting using brute force, based on the Quran, they are indeed deemed as having killed all mankind; therefore, ISIS completely opposes it and its messages in order to advance a more or less political agenda, while deeming themselves as religious fighters.
