Can Technology replace a Teacher? Use of Technology, as a resource for internal teaching in colleges and universities is customary today. Obviously, there are diverse viewpoints regarding the use of technology in the teaching/learning process too. In academics by the use of technology, the teachers facilitate themselves to enrich their knowledge, prepare their lectures efficiently and provide additional information to the students, to facilitate better learning in this global age. The proper usage of diverse technologies, intended as teaching/learning tools, help out the teacher in his/her task. I propose to put forth some of the benefits and shortcomings of the use of technology as a tool for teaching/learning practice as a teacher myself. So, let’s locate few very general advantages and disadvantages of the use of technology in academics.klyIssue# 1
To start with advantages, technology helps the teacher to present and demonstrate situations, objects and actions in the classroom. In a nutshell the use of technology facilitates - different teaching methods, better student attention, visual animation and Internet access to all. New technologies can be effective, but they can’t replace the old methods of teaching. Technology can modify and develop the traditional methods of learning but cannot replace the human touch. Ultimately, the quality of the class will depend solely on the quality of the teacher and not the presence of technology.
