As a Canadian citizen, there are various rights and responsibilities I need to follow. Without this course, I would not have known my rights as a citizen or the responsibilities I must adhere to in order to be a respectable citizen. God forbid, if I was in a situation where I were being hurt or mistreated in some way, I now know what my rights are and can effectively fight for myself. Along with rights come responsibilities. If you had asked me at the beginning of this course if I knew what the responsibilities of a citizen were, I would probably be dumbfounded, but now I know that there is a great deal more to being a member of a community than I originally thought. Consequently, I need to maintain the responsibilities of being informed, respecting others rights, participating in our community and various others.
