Captopril tablets are an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) used for the treatment of hypertension and some types of congestive heart failure. Captopril tablets are indicated for use in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension in adult patients.

Use of captopril tablet during pregnancy or breast feeding should be avoided Captopril must not be taken during the first and second trimester of the pregnancy as it can lead to growth retardation in the unborn baby.
This medication passes into breast milk but is unlikely to harm a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before taking this medication or before breast-feeding.
Driving or operating machinery should be avoided because it can affect your ability to drive especially if you are taking it for the first time or if your doctor changes the dose.
