If admitted, I plan on pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technology, with a split concentration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Science & Analytics, on a part-time basis initially and will evaluate attending full-time during my first semester. Over the last nineteen years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many differing organizations in implementing leading edge enterprise solutions supporting Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geographic Intelligence (GEOINT); through this work I have participated in teams making great strides in innovative research, especially in the GIS field of study. Through these experiences, I have participated in the business decision-making process, along with various technology leaders, and have witnessed the total cost and/or complexity of a project sink many proposed solutions. It is my belief that the faculty and facilities at Claremont Graduate University, specifically the Advanced GIS and Data Science labs, as well as the flexibility given by the School for Information Systems and Technology’s Ph.D. program are uniquely positioned to help me gain the understanding necessary to help further refine existing concepts and develop new concepts to bring added value to the community.
