If admitted, I plan on pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technology, with a split concentration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Science & Analytics, on a part-time basis initially and will evaluate attending full-time during my first semester. Over the last nineteen years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many differing organizations in implementing leading edge enterprise solutions supporting Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geographic Intelligence (GEOINT); through this work I have participated in teams making great strides in innovative research, especially in the GIS field of study. Through these experiences, I have participated in the business decision-making process, along with various technology leaders, and have witnessed the total cost and/or complexity of a project sink many proposed solutions. It is my belief that the faculty and facilities at Claremont Graduate University, specifically the Advanced GIS and Data Science labs, as well as the flexibility given by the School for Information Systems and Technology’s Ph.D. program are uniquely positioned to help me gain the understanding necessary to help further refine existing concepts and develop new concepts to bring added value to the community. The initial coursework will help me hone the research skills I have been developing throughout my career and the doctoral studies program will help me build the experience necessary to take part within the research community. Experience that has prevented me from participating in a more contributory manner to
The three careers I chose to examine were IT Security Administrator, Forensics Investigator, and Obstetrician Gynecologist. I chose these careers because I discovered that the employment rates for these jobs are expected to grow at a faster than average 37% from 2012-2022. This is because data security threats are growing and with more digital technology rising, more organizations have become victims of cyber crimes. The other career is what I want to be. Internet Security Administrators, also known as computer security specialists, or Internet security specialists, protect computer systems against attack.
In future years the work we know and do will be changed. With current emerging technologies, such as the 3D printer, Wi-Fi, or mobile devices, jobs have already been impacted from what was done in the ‘olden days’ or before the introduction of these advancements. Three careers have been chosen to display how this information technology (IT) impacts on work, these careers being medicine, education, and journalism. They have been chosen based on how their careers have largely been positively impacted and changed because of these advancements. The examples below will demonstrate how IT has shown to be an overall positive addition to the work industry.
I choose to pursue a doctoral degree at Walden to further my knowledge in the business world (Beno, 2016). The pursuit of a doctoral degree would benefit my personal assessment, growth, and future business success (Basar, Altinay, Dagli, & Altinay, 2016). My Professional Development Plan will allow me to reach out and assist society with my business knowledge for change (Barker, 2014, p. 10).

When I was seven years old my mother was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma. Although I had had my fair share of doctor visits prior to this event I did not remember them, I do however remember visiting my mother in the hospital and watching those close to her become her caretakers in the following months. In the years succeeding, I had my tonsils removed and countless sinus surgeries to relieve my allergy suffering. It wasn’t until I was on the other side, as the patient, that I realized how much I appreciated the work the health care providers were doing. Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals made me feel comfortable and explained each procedure to me in a way I could understand while not getting frightened.
As an Early Educator, I see children as flower buds, that need my undivided attention and love. They need a safe and rich environment so they can blossom into strong and confident flowers. Like flowers, there is diversity among them, and it is my duty to accommodate and meet the needs of each flower, in order to help them grow. I see children as curious and active learners, and my job as an educator is to provide a safe and rich environment, where children can explore freely. I strongly believe in forming secure attachments with each child, to provide that comfort they need to explore the world around them.
I have chosen to get my Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Kaplan University, because of the high demand in the healthcare profession. The sight of all the equipment sent a rush of excitement through me like that moment when my first program finally ran its course. Today, I imagine spending hours in the lab (probably way past my bedtime) and seeing my name published in a research journal, perhaps alongside a Texas A&M University’s faculty member. I intend to also join the Aggie Club of Engineering where I can group with students in the same field and solve real world problems- which will give me tons of job world experience. With this experience, I hope to apply to many internships to give me the necessary prerequisites to launch my own successful software company. Unlike high school, I’m now hoping to enter a place where even if we’re still
I am excited to see how my education will help me to hone my skills further in my chosen field of study. In addition, my long-term goals are to continue my education by attending graduate school and obtaining a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. Texas A&M University will be a great place for me to excel. It will provide me with an opportunity to explore who I am and the world around me. Career Research: Pharmaceutical and Pediatric Field One career field that I am interested in is pharmacy. I believe that pharmacy would be a good field for me because my mother is a pharmacy technician and since my mom would study medicine I would sit beside her and she would help me learn some things about pharmacy and medicine. Since then, I have always thought of pharmacy as a possible career choice.
