During my undergraduate studies, I mainly focused on three goals: doing well in my courses and learning the principles and fundamentals, improving my English and finally, becoming familiar with advanced topics in the field, so I could choose my future path wisely. My major was in manufacturing and production systems, but I always took my chances to look further into solid and fluid mechanics. In my senior years of undergraduate studies, my mentors and advisers in the university encouraged me to pursue my interest in the field of mechanical engineering through upper levels. By then, I decided to participate in the national higher-education entrance exam. I ranked 41st among 13,000 candidates, and granted an admission to the University of Tehran, most respected university in the region. Fortunately, my graduate studies were another step in the right direction as I managed to award as Rank 1st among all mechanical Engineering graduate students in the major of manufacturing. I graduated with a M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering in 2011 with the GPA of 18.12 out of …show more content…
More specifically, the department of mechanical engineering with outstanding and active faculties and numerous laboratories is one of the best academic environments with a unique and excellent multi-disciplinary curriculum that I know of and would like to be part of. The UNC Charlotte offers me some of the best programs related to my fields of interest. I believe that my strong engineering background along with my passion for science will allow me to be a great researcher. My plan for the short-term future is to continue my PhD at a highly ranked university and for the long-term, to pursue a research-related opportunity that would allow me to utilize my knowledge and follow my
What causes success? To many people, success is cultivated through dedication and perseverance; the amount of effort put in directly correlates to the quality of the result. However, this statement does not fully represent the implications of success and how it is achieved. In Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell analyzes the basis of success, uncovering the astonishing effect that opportunity and legacy have on the creation of outliers. When applied to my life, these two factors play a significant role in my achievements and future potential.
I personally believe that UNC Wilmington will allow me to grow academically as a student as well as an adult. Being from a small town in Maine I have always been the type of person to try new things and live to the fullest. When I decided to go to college, my mind was set on staying close to home my first year and getting the feel of what it is like. I strongly feel I am a very independent person and enjoy the challenges of doing things on my own. I have changed my mind many times on a career path I wish to pursue I don’t find it easy for someone my age to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life.
It is because of them that I aspire to be a college graduate, ready to head out into the world and help others while making my parents
This is because in my family no one has a degree except my father. My father was a teacher, and always encourages me and my brothers to get a career. For my brothers, having a career is very hard, and they believe that school is very difficult to concentrate. Now I am sure that my father will be very proud of me one day after getting my degree. Another example is that my niece Karen sees me as a role model.

Since I was in my childhood I have high curiosity on how and why things work. I have this unsatisfied feeling until I know why and how it 's happening. My dad always told me the same about me. I still remember how I spend the whole day looking for what make the pedestal fan to swing and I opened up its cover to see the motor and gear rotating and for me it 's fascinating. He used to bring me along with him in his nearest four wheel drive park where he taught me many things about four wheel vehicles.
It is pretty hard to unpack the influences in my life that have made me into the person I am today in a two-page paper. However, after thinking about it for a long time I could see a pattern of certain influences that kept coming up when I thought about who I am today and what made me into the person I am. After several unsuccessful attempts to rank the influences based on importance I decided merge them into two major themes. If I was to tell a complete stranger what the source of my skills, principles, and attitudes were; I would have to say they are attributed to my family and my extracurricular activities. These may seem like 2 very broad categories, but at the end of the day they are what shaped me into the person I am today.
My parents always stressed how we should do our best and have to work for the things we want. Growing up I learned this doesn’t come easy. As everything college is upon us I have reflected on these principles and pondered how I will come up with the money for my college education. The clear cut answer is scholarships. You will see in this essay that I am a worthy candidate for this scholarship.

From stair-climbing wheelchair to prosthetic mind-controlled limbs - the rate of innovative products developed for the less fortunate people in the society is increasing. My long-term goal is to inspire the next generation of researchers to develop computational methods and optimization techniques that would help in creating products to aid differently abled people. I believe that making small changes to the design conceptualization methods will have a great impact on the efficient design of products. I believe that choosing a career as a professor will be a cardinal step towards reaching my long-term goal. Being a professor is the best platform for developing knowledge on computational design by doing what I'm truly excited, namely, learning
