What are the caregiver’s key roles? The caregiver’s key roles in the patient’s care are being reliable, supportive, and sensitive to the patient’s physical and emotional well-being. As a caregiver, they must serve as a home health aide, and is usually done at the patient’s home, hospital, or an outpatient treatment center. I believe that caregivers must play different roles, because over time the patient’s needs will change if they are becoming weaker, and weaker by the day. So, what exactly do the caregivers do on an everyday basis? They serve as an aid for the patient. What is depression? Google states, “Depression is a mental condition characterized by feelings of severe despondency by lack of energy and disturbance of appetite and sleep.” Definition Google. Everyone all struggles with feeling low sometimes, but when you are feeling always low, and have no energy, this may be a sign of depression. If you are struggling through depression, please don’t ignore the signs and seek help. Help can be reaching out to a friend, consulting with your care provider, or an employee of yours. People are understanding and are willing to lend a hand if you reach out to them. There are a couple ways to help prevent depression or any negative feelings become worse. Some lifestyle changes that you can make into your everyday life is exercising. If you have a busy life and not a lot of time, try to take a moment to walk outside around your neighborhood, or join a sport that you have always enjoyed playing growing up. Movement is the key in all lifestyles. Another prevention to depression is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Try to balance what you eat. There is nothing wrong with going out and having a greasy burger, or some ice cream. The goal is to limit the portions and reducing the constituency of eating processed food.
